Farewell Gesture to Stratford

From an anonymous (mostly) source:

After the unanimous bi-partisan Town Council vote on November 9th to approve funding for appropriation of two new sorely needed Fire Engines for our residents, James R. Miron remains unavailable and unwilling to sign the emergency purchase order.

As seen in on the record testimony at the November 9th council meeting (see live link) http://www.townofstratford.com/content/1296/1376/3133/15757.aspx appropriation of these two demo Engines will save our taxpayers HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS! We trust and pray that members of the Town Council lead by Council Chairman Mike Hendrick will do the right thing and put this tyrant in his place once and for all.

This issue highlights the question on most readers minds: Just how much more damage will James R. Miron do before he leaves office???

Our guess: As much as possible!!!

I suggest all interested parties follow the link provided and see this for themselves live. I just did and it was eye opening. I couldn’t help notice that Tony Ross’ son Daniel outshined his new Miron appointed bosses. I also noticed that statements made by many vindicated chief Tom Murray. The two Miron chiefs are the best Stratford could do after a nationwide search? Good luck to our fireman, they will need it and thanks to chief Ross.

That worthless bastard. I watched the video. All that has to happen is the purchasing agent as to go to the mayor and get the mayor to deem it an emergency to waive the competitive bid process. That’s all he has to do. This will save us thousands of dollars, probably tens of thousands of dollars. What a disgrace.

What is the name of a Fire Truck restoration and sales company
owned wholley or in part by a former Town Council Chairman?

    What town is it located?

Where were the 2 demo Fire Trucks moved to by the factory
where they were viewed by Mr. Ross’s team?

What have been the Town Council Budgeted O. T. and PENSIONS
under the Republican dominated Town Council, including when
the owner of a Fire Truck restoration and sales company was a
    chairman of the Town Council.

    > enlisting citizens to come to public forum to speak about a
Public Safety issue where the fire trucks should have been
bought years ago, but appear to be delay for Ethical / Legal
    statutory reasons is GHOULISH,

    > The 3rd rate performance by the 3 Fire Department reps, after
worthy Police and Fire persons got deserved awards compounded
the GHOULISH nature of the anti-Public Safety DELAYS.

    > Henrick kicking me off the Public Forum, where I complimented
the deserved awards and endorsed the Public Safety petitioners
for Public Forum redress of grievances, only enhanced the positions
    I took about:
1 – the YEARS of DELAYS to BUY the FIRE TRUCKS
    and
2 – how the PENSIONS impact the Public Safety, where $ 75,000 a year
extra PENSION over 70 % of his Base Pay, would recoup $ 900,000 and
pay for BOTH FIRE TRUCKS in 12 years
(minimum time the Trucks should be in service)

Miron refusing to sign Emergency Order, will delay the eventual
purchase, as a nice Christmas present, for (wink-wink) who may
need the extra month to comply with Ethics Code and Legal statutes
from time on an elected position of Trust?

Why does everything come to steering money?
Even when it is a Public Safety issue and inexcusable.

    People died.
In that situation, it appears it could not have been prevented.

Are some people PATRIOTS or GHOULS?

The limited circle of people who read this blog know the truth.

No excuse for POLICE or FIRE or anyone to be exposed to death
or harm due to faulty or old or missing equipment.

No excuse for the PUBLIC to be exposed to death or harm due to
faulty or old or missing equipment.

As John Harkins mentioned there were 6 fire fatalities in Stratford.
NOW I understand why HENRICK stated “I am not going to let you
blame the Town Council for the FIRE FATALITIES, when I had already
stated the 2 deaths of the people in that fire in all likely hood could
    NOT have been prevented.

However, I know zip about the other 4 deaths, to which Harkins
referred. If, IF, IF they could have been saved by proper equipment…

If, if, IF Fire or Police became injured while the Town Council and
Mayor played games with a Capital purchase ….

Some Police and Fire may be in the know …. ??
However, I can NOT believe and do NOT WANT to believe ANY POLICE
or FIRE would allow BROTHERS and SISTERS to be ENDANGERED for O.T.
or PENSIONS, or STEERING MONEY to Commission on Fire Truck Sales!

Some Police and Fire may be in the know …. ??
However, I can NOT believe and do NOT WANT to believe ANY POLICE
or FIRE would allow the PUBLIC to be ENDANGERED for O.T., PENSIONS,
or STEERING MONEY to Commission on Fire Truck Sales!

I can and do believe some Lawyers and Town Committee people are
100 % capable in putting people in danger for BLOOD MONEY ….

To use Mike R quote, but about certain people in both parties:

“This will save us thousands of dollars, probably tens of thousands
    of dollars. What a disgrace.”

or to rephase it just changing 2 words and replacing it with 1 word:

[This will "steer" thousands of dollars, probably tens of thousands of dollars.
    What a disgrace.]

  4. 4 rex525

Jez it appears you broke the story of Miron wanting to buy the trucks just before the election. Now that he lost it appears he doesnt want them anymore. Is it humanly possible that someone could be that shallow and stupid or do you think he is just that arrogant and vindictive?

  5. 5 mikereynolds

    All of the above?

  6. 6 sylvia67

I strongly urge that a search warrant is obtained so Miron’s home can be searched for Town property. I just find it very strange that John Norko, who had a fine reputation while being employed in Bpt., has already put in his resignation. I believe he knows a lot and wants out. I am so excited by the many calls I am receiving too the effect that, “Syl, one thing I like about the out come of this election is that you are not moving away.” If Miron somehow made it, my home was going up for sale the next day, and many friends in Stratford were so upset when I mentioned that to them. I want to inform the town that the fire chief Miron hired is not qualified to do the job. Ellen Murray is most qualified and she should of been given the job. We need to clean this town out of all the cronies and the nepotism Miron brought to town. This really belongs in “Believe it or Not.”

  7. 7 1george1

    Syl,

Even Ripley, “would not believe” Stratford.
Shakespeare could not create these characters, not subplots.

I am glad Mironlost and Stratford is not losing Sylvia.

I have to wait on Harkins personnel.
Syl & I have similar on some people & diametric on others.

Of any town person, if I was in a union and had a jam, I would
want Tom Murray to rep me. That is no knock on Ellen Murray!
I have seen & heard Tom for the last couple years.
Tom & I would knock heads over Pension Bond money.
But I believe we have a lot of common ground and places where
compromise would be realistic compared to draconian scenarios.

    -

I am neither going to agree nor disagree with rex or mike until some
    things play out.
It should be enough that I would not rule out their possibilities.
However, If you read my position about monday night and Town Council
chair people and the fire trucks and unforgiveable delays BY the TOWN
COUNCIL …. there is a very real possibility that ……………….. >

  8. 8 1george1

    Jeze,

I have to compliment you on many very good pictures.
    Your source?
Do you google fire truck disaster?

Or do you just google “Miron?”

  9. 9 jezebel282

    Sigh….

I had so hoped it was done. It must be the water in this Town.
But, I suppose Yogi was right.

It is no surprise that Miron is refusing to sign the order. Anyone who has read this blog more than once shouldn’t be the least bit shocked. The only thing Miron really concentrates on is revenge. And even that he does poorly. The order will be signed by Miron or it will be signed by the real mayor on Dec 14th.

But, as usual, Mayor Moron is directing his vengeance at the taxpayer and voter. It is us who will suffer another month of faulty and inadequate fire equipment. This is a project former fire chief Jay Cybart work on for YEARS. It is what got him terminated. He wanted to finally order the equipment but Miron wanted it saved till he could use it to his own advantage…like around election time. Just like he delayed reconstruction of Huntington Road. (Oh? You didn’t know that the project was approved and funded by the State 4 years ago?).

But back to the issue at hand. In Miron’s mind, he is “punishing” the firefighter’s union for backing Harkins. Guess what, Jimmy? Each and every member of the union will be collecting a paycheck long after yours have stopped.

We also anticipate that moments after Harkins signs the order, some die-hard members of the DTC will scream and moan about some shady deal between Feehan and Harkins or Harkins and the union or Feehan and the union or all three. To that end, the Council, Feehan, Chief Cavanaugh (like that would EVER happen) or Harkins should publish the quote and clearly specify what New England Fire Equipment Co’s finder’s fee is.

(For those not accustomed to standard business practices, Finder’s Fees are provided by literally millions of companies every day for work done in obtaining orders.)

  10. 10 jezebel282

    Sylvia,

“Ellen Murray is most qualified and she should of been given the job.”

You are absolutely correct. Aside from her qualifications and experience (which probably surpasses most Fire Chiefs in the State) wouldn’t it be very, very nice for Stratford to have a female fire chief? Especially someone who was more concerned about us than kissing the mayor’s butt.

(Sadly, Manchester CT beat us to the first female chief years ago.)

Of course, there would be the locker room mentality to combat within the FD. But even firefighters have to grow up someday. Right, boys?

  11. 11 1george1

    From Jeze
We also anticipate that moments after Harkins signs the order, some die-hard members of the DTC will scream and moan about some shady deal between Feehan and Harkins or Harkins and the union or Feehan and the union or all three. From George
However, the Town Council in which Mr Feehan served for 9 of 10 years
prior to this Town Council could have bought at least 1 fire Truck 8 years
ago and another one 2 years ago, couldn’t they?

Conveniently, the price of the fire trucks adds $ 5,000 to the authorized /
bonded $ 800,000 for the Fire Trucks.
That forces a need for an Emergency Order from the Town Council.
Miron may refuse, “forcing” the Harkins Team to heroically buy the
badly needed and LONG, LONG, LONG, LONG OVER DUE FIRE TRUCKS
in the NAME of PUBLIC SAFETY.

Very conveniently that will happen AFTER the 2 years from which Mr.
Feehan was on the Town Council.

Jeze what is the ETHICAL REGULATORY Statute of Limitations on this
    ISSUE?

Please do not insult anyone’s intelligence with pretext / indignation.

It’s not like the FBI or JUSTICE DEPARTMENT or JUDGES actually obeys
the US Constitution or the State Police / Judges / Prosecutors and
    Police / Town Attorneys ….

The games and lies are unworthy of the bravery and greatness of the
core of civil servants and the oaths of office.

    What a disgrace …

    On veteran’s day!

  12. 12 phineast

The council should just declare the emergency in light of the absence of Miron. Get it over with and make the whole thing come full circle-they declared him absent in the beginning of his term he might as well finish that way.

  13. 13 jezebel282

    George,

“However, the Town Council in which Mr Feehan served for 9 of 10 years
prior to this Town Council could have bought at least 1 fire Truck 8 years
ago and another one 2 years ago, couldn’t they?”

There is so much wrong with the way the Town has been run that it is almost impossible to know where to begin.

For example, nearly $1 Million of LoCip funding has been squandered on Town Hall renovations and granite curbs on Broad Street. That alone would have bought two new firetrucks. Where the granite came from is still a question.

“Please do not insult anyone’s intelligence with pretext / indignation.”

Indignation? Nope. They are just facts. Maybe it was appropriate that this issue came up yesterday. It says so much about Mayor Moron’s last ditch efforts. The 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month……

I claim no particular expertise in fire equipment, procedure or methods. But, when firemen say they need equipment to do their jobs and keep us and themselves safe…well, I gotta go with the firemen over the politicians.

And once again, we see politics entangled in public safety. Here you have a Fire Chief (supposedly the most expert employee in Town regarding fire safety) telling residents in a published letter in the Post that everything is just peachy keen in the FD and Miron has it all under control while slapping his own Assistant Chief around in the press. Yet a mere 10 days (and one election) later he is standing before the Council begging for new equipment because the existing equipment is inadequate, dated (did I hear 1979?) and malfunctioning.

I have no particular problem with a Town resident (Jim Feehan) making a few bucks. I have a huge problem, however, if it cost taxpayers more than if it were competitively bid and we could have saved more than say, 10% on a $900,000 deal. (In my way of thinking, that’s a whole ‘nother fireman, cop, teacher, pw employee or maybe 2).

  14. 14 1george1

I claim no particular expertise in fire equipment, procedure or
methods. But, when firemen say they need equipment to do
their jobs and keep us and themselves safe…
well, I gotta go with the firemen over the politicians.

    111 % AGREED.

    -

The FIREMEN have pointed this NEED for replacement FIRE TRUCKS
for a DECADE, and the ISSUE first surfaced with KRONENBERG and
    FEEHAN (getting arrested).

Why didn’t the Town Council then or subsequently BUY FIRE TRUCK(S)?

Why did they wait until Mr. Feehan could be Ethically / Legally able
to get the FINDERS FEES / COMMISSIONS to sell, NOT ONE but TWO
    FIRE TRUCKS?

    -

Yo Jeze, Writing of FINDERS FEES, what is your position on the FINDERS
FEES that Burturla / Berchem have been rumored (by well connected
people in BOTH Town Committees) to have been getting on the PENSION
BONDING and PORTFOLIO MANAGEMENT COMPANIES, everytime they go
    out to BID?

(or, why haven’t they gone to BID, under the (R), while Burturla made
6 figures every year since 1996, while the (R) MOSTLY controlled both
the Town council and Board of Ed, which selected Town Attorney,
    except recently under the Mayoral?)

Are you DEFENDING Burturla / Berchem, when defending Feehan finder
    fees?

    ==

    Phin,

The council controls the purse and legislation.
Kubec specifically asked the Fire Dept management to declare emergency.
The council can not by charter interfer with day to day administration,
which by charter is the Mayor purview.
Ergo, the council can not declare emergency – it is up to the mayor, IF
    my information is correct!

    DOES THAT ANSWER YOUR QUESTION

  15. 15 1george1

Will Jeze defend finders fees of Feehan and Burturla?

Will Jeze defend the decade of delay in buying at least 1 fire truck?

Will Jeze admit that some people in both parties including some Jeze backs,
care more about money, than cares about Public Safety?

Jeze – your credibility and integrity are on the line in how you answer these
    specific questions.

I believe and hope, you are person enougn to place public safety above your
    political allies.

Yo Jeze – it is not like I am giving any credit to Miron on this as I believe he is
100 % involved in this scam, along with Burturla and the mirror imagers.

  16. 16 jezebel282

    George,

“Will Jeze defend finders fees of Feehan and Burturla?”

I have no proof of any finder’s fee paid to anyone…yet. However, both Buturla and Berchem Moses and Devlin were acting upon Stratford’s behalf and being compensated (very well) for it. The collection of a finder’s fee would be wholly inappropriate. Finder’s fees are not intended to provide double income for the finder.

“Will Jeze defend the decade of delay in buying at least 1 fire truck?”

    Nope. See above.

“Will Jeze admit that some people in both parties including some Jeze backs,
care more about money, than cares about Public Safety?”

    “Backs”? Who does Jezebel back?

“Jeze – your credibility and integrity are on the line in how you answer these
    specific questions.”

So what? Every time I touch the keyboard that is the case.

  17. 17 1george1

    Good enough.

You answered appropriately enough, to satisfy my curiousity
and reinforce my respect for you.

On many things, we agree to disargree, which is healthy.

  18. 18 1george1

someone help jeze of the floor, please?

  19. 19 phineast

George, I actually didn’t ask a question-just made a statement to ponder. You are actually incorrect, I went back back reread the section of the charter referenced. Council has the right during the “absence” to have the council chair become the acting mayor…….Miron is being totally irresponsible and immature going off to lick his wounds while the staff is resigning…he is not putting Stratford or the safety of the residents first-he never has. We are fortunate to be rid of him on Dec 14.

  20. 20 1george1

    Phin -
The Mayor was absent, but not incapacitated.
THAT may affect your interpretation vs, intent & verbage?

    The Chairman did not act.
    The meeting is over.

I believe Henrick would be far worse than Miron, and that is no
compliment to Miron> I have my reasons.

    Sink, sank, sunk:

Mayor won’t declare emergency to expedite fire truck purchase

    Written by John Kovach
    Thursday, 12 November 2009 10:22

The purchase of two fire trucks may be still be held up in a debate over whether the need constitutes an emergency.

The Town Council voted Monday night to allocate from the council’s contingency fund $5,000 needed to allow the purchase of two fire trucks used as demonstration models by Smeal, the manufacturer.

The Fire Department was originally given $450,000 to buy a truck. Another $350,000 was allocated in a capital plan.

The price for the two trucks is $805,000.

However, the direct purchase from the manufacturer would be done without competitive bidding, so the allocation was approved pending Mayor James R. Miron declaring an emergency so the bidding ordinance could be waived.

“I’m not going to waive a quarter million dollars in bids when the Fire Department has fought for over four years to get the specs the Fire Department says it needs,” Miron said Wednesday, and that the situation did not constitute an emergency. And exactly how did firing Jay Cybart help the cause, Jimmy?

Miron was not at Monday’s council meeting. Why should he be? It was only about honoring Police and Firefighters and public safety.

Town ordinance requires any purchase or contract in excess of $7,500 be put out to bid.

“This is 100 times that,” Miron said.

Miron said the trucks earmarked for purchase are not those the Fire Department designed, and doing the purchase as an emergency “makes a mockery” of the bid process. And Lord knows the bid process is so important to you. How many bids did you get from Heather for the awful logos, stationary and Town tag line? How many bids did you get before you gave $180,000 worth of consulting to BL Company? You hypocritical idiot.

“If the next guy wants to do it, he can,” Miron said, referring to Mayor-elect John Harkins, who takes office Dec. 14. LOL! Can’t say it, can you Jimmy? “The next MAYOR.”

Firefighters said trucks have broken down, requiring loans from departments in Milford and Shelton. The department’s reserve truck is a 1979 model. Does it have an 8 track player too?

Fire Chief James Cavanaugh, until asked to stop by Councilman Joseph Kubic (R-9th), repeated several times that the department’s preference would be to draft specifications for a truck from the ground up, but that purchasing the two demo models would quickly fill a need.

“I’m fervently against buying used apparatus for the Fire Department,” Cavanaugh said. Now here’s a guy who’s never influenced by politics….

The trucks have never been in service and never been used to fight a fire, Cavanaugh and Assistant Chief Daniel Ross said.

Ross, too, expressed preference for trucks designed to meet specifications.

But in an effort to fill a years-long need for new apparatus, firefighters searched online and found other options. Really? They Googled it?

One truck was tested in town, but firefighters did not feel it met their needs.

They then heard through New England Fire Equipment about the availability of two trucks Smeal had used to show its vehicles to potential buyers.

Another $100,000 would be needed to equip both trucks. Kubic said that could be appropriated at purchase.

The cost of one truck, built to spec, was $670,000, Ross said.

Forget it. Nothing will happen until after Dec 14th.

  22. 22 mikereynolds

I hope everyone who supported and voted for this worthless scumbag sees his true colors.

  23. 23 phineast

so show me the bids for the $70k worth of branding that went directly to Heather’s firm-no emergency there either….that just might give ole Jimbo a seat in the slammer.
George-they should have acted the night of the meeting while both Miron and Mccauley were unreachable. That would have ended it. If it were Miron’s mother who died as one of the 6 fatalities this year you could bet your sweet bippy we’d have a whole new fleet of trucks, fully equipped.

  24. 24 jezebel282

I wonder when it will be declared an “emergency”.

Stratford residents demand more hydrants after fatal September fire
    By Richard Weizel
    STAFF WRITER
    Updated: 11/09/2009 11:49:28 PM EST

STRATFORD — Residents of a secluded North End neighborhood where two people died during a September fire that required water tankers be set up because of the lack of hydrants demanded Monday that the town provide more hydrants to prevent future tragedies.

Neighbors who live near the fire that broke out Sept. 25 at 48 Kathleen Drive and claimed the lives of two elderly people described standing helplessly nearby on the dead-end street and witnessing a “burning inferno that soared high above the trees.”

The bodies of the two were found the next day inside the charred shell of the house, owned by Ronald Everett and his wife, Sandra M. Harris-Everett. The 88-year-old mother of Sandra Harris-Everett and an uncle who were staying there died in the blaze, fire officials said. The Everetts were away when the fire erupted.

Neighbors told the Town Council Monday night they have been complaining for years that the single fire hydrant in their neighborhood was not enough to provide protection for their 50 home-community near the Shelton border.

“Five fire engines and all on-duty members of the Stratford Fire Department that night rushed to the blaze,” said Steve Otfinoski, who resides near the site of the fire…

But wait for it…it only gets better:

…Cavanaugh said. “As to why there has been only one hydrant there all these years, I really can’t answer that.”

Right. What would a Fire Chief know about the placement of fire hydrants?

  25. 25 mikereynolds

Well, didn’t he just get here? You can’t lay this at his feet.

  26. 26 jezebel282

    Mike,

He got here on Jan 23. You think 10 months is not enough time to look at a map?

  27. 27 mikereynolds

Has it been that long? I honestly thought he just got here. Maybe that was the other guy.

  28. 28 1george1

I basically agree with the above post.

    However,

If the reserve fire truck is a 1979 truck and adding 12 to 15 years
for service, that brings it to 1991 to 1994, when somesone should
have bought a new or demo truck to replace it.

    Am I correct?

Somebody please answer as to what year was the proper time
to retire the reserve Fire Truck.

    -

Then post what year stamford Fireman Feehan was a Town Councilor.

    -

Willl ANYONE do that, since his name isn’t Miron?

    -

What years hav the D and R controlled the Town Council.

What years and for how many years have the firemen been asking to
    replace the fire trucks ?

Will any Miron haters conceed that the Mirons do NOT take the
exclusive hit on this and the feehan / republicans deserve at
least a tiny piece of the blame?

    Fair is fair, correct?

I expect Mike R, who like myself does not like the Miron political
actions, has at least conceeded some things ,,,,

  29. 29 jezebel282

    George,

I have never been a fan of either the RTC or DTC. The DTC just happens to be more corrupt currently.

What we actually need are some heroes in Stratford. Captain Joe McNeil and Assistant Chief Tom Murray are excellent starts. Let’s hope John Harkins can come close to their stature.

  30. 30 1george1

I hope McNeil and Murray are the men I believe they are,
and that you obviously believe in.

We have room for honest political disagreements.

I just finished a post about a few of the shutdowns and downsizing
that I hear about on a daily basis. These are just CT.

Especially when there are concurring complaintants!
The more concurring complaintants … the ….>

  37. 37 jezebel282

    Nope.

You are wrong, George my friend. This is Stratford. You should know better.

John Buturla’s two main qualities as Police Chief were being Rich Buturla’s brother and doing anything Miron wanted. After Dec 14th those qualities will be eliminated.

We already know that he has failed as a leader of officers. 92% of the police officers voted “no confidence” in him.

Buturla, along with McCarthy and Cavanaugh, simply chose the wrong career path; Miron’s way. To a lesser extent, so did Riddenhour and Maffet. They chose Miron over their own departments.

You lead by example and by protecting your own. You don’t vilify and discredit your staff in the press (as Cavanaugh did), fire them (as McCarthy did) or have them arrested (as John Buturla did).

  38. 38 1george1

    Jeze,

I believe getting rid of a police chief is EXTREMELY difficult.

The workers do not fire the chief, unless they can prove criminal
    violations. Even then
1 – It takes higher authority than a mayor.

2 – There needs to be formal charges.

    3 – The politically appointed prosecutors / and-or U. S. Attorneys
have to be willing to ACT.

4 – Finding a State or Federal Judge willing to take on “connections.”

5 – Complaintants better be sooooo clean they squeek when they walk.

6 – Friendly press would help.

7 – Somebody in higher authority has to have motive to OK.

    —–
I find your statement reprehensible and what is wrong with USA:
You lead by example and by protecting your own.

Blue Wall and Omerta are often indistinguishable, for criminal acts?

  39. 39 jezebel282

    George,

    “I find your statement reprehensible”

You have never led people, George. I am not going to discuss the qualities of leadership with someone who only believes in the evil of leaders. Let us suffice it to say that loyalty is earned, not commanded.

Having a Police Chief fired is not that big of a deal either. Basically it is the same process Miron tried to use on former Fire Chief Jay Cybart.

Sec. 7-278. Hearing prior to dismissal of municipal police head. Just cause requirement. Appeal. No active head of any police department of any town, city or borough shall be dismissed unless there is a showing of just cause by the authority having the power of dismissal and such person has been given notice in writing of the specific grounds for such dismissal and an opportunity to be heard in his own defense, personally or by counsel, at a public hearing before such authority. Such public hearing, unless otherwise specified by charter, shall be held not less than five nor more than ten days after such notice. Any person so dismissed may appeal within thirty days following such dismissal to the superior court for the judicial district in which such town, city or borough is located. Service shall be made as in civil process. Said court shall review the record of such hearing, and, if it appears upon the hearing upon the appeal that testimony is necessary for an equitable disposition of the appeal, it may take evidence or appoint a referee or a committee to take such evidence as it directs and report the same to the court with his or its findings of fact, which report shall constitute a part of the proceedings upon which the determination of the court shall be made. The court, upon such appeal, and after a hearing thereon, may affirm the action of such authority, or may set the same aside if it finds that such authority acted illegally or arbitrarily, or in the abuse of its discretion, with bad faith, malice, or without just cause.

“You lead by example and by protecting your own.”

    - Q

Regardless of merit, legality, ethically, or Constitutionally?

  41. 41 jezebel282

    George,

“Regardless of merit, legality, ethically, or Constitutionally?”

As a leader, if the people you lead show no merit, act illegally, unethically or unconstitutionally that is your own deficiency as a leader.

The primary responsibility of a leader versus an administrator is to enable your people to do their jobs to the best of their abilities. The “magic” of leadership is demonstrating that each and every task is vital to the success of the organization and that all contributions to that effort are praiseworthy.

Among other things, that means that errors committed by the people you lead are your responsibility and no one else’s. That is what I mean by “protecting your own”. You certainly don’t have them arrested or humiliate them in the press.

Here is a good rule of thumb: Whatever Miron and his administrators have done in the last four years….don’t do that.

(By now, George, you should know me better than that.)

  42. 42 1george1

    Jeze,

Your answer is consistent with one that I could have writen and wanted
you to write, simply to clarify there is a huge difference between you…..
and many in the political …. game.

I challemge and test everyone on political issues and welcome everyone to challenge and test me on political issues.

You would find it amusing the one question I was glad I did not have to
answer. I sided with both the questioner, yet understood there was a
safety reason why a nusance situation kinda needed to exist, related to
the people the questioner would make unhappy …. 8)

Will anyone bite out of curiosity?

  43. 43 anyonebutharkins

Here is a good rule of thumb: Whatever Miron and his administrators have done in the last four years….don’t do that.

(By now, George, you should know me better than that.)

See, you lost me on that one comment Jeze. I agree that a manager is only as succesful as the power and promotability of his people. If a manager does not train a crew filled with energetic, promotable people, he is not doing his job.

    {or her job…)

That said, this whole relentless stupid miron thing really makes me discredit you and not want to engage in a conversation.

I have asked this before, but I will one more time. Is there any possible way that you can release your obsession with miron now that the election is over and maintain this site as a healthy, open site where views could finally be open, not as they have been over the past few years.

I think you are making a grave mistake and an insult to your credibility by not sticking behind your site.

  44. 44 ronmoreau

    Jez,

What ‘Anyone but’ fails to understand is that there is a HUGE difference between a manager/administrator and a Leader. That’s why he is lost.

    You said,

” The primary responsibility of a leader versus an administrator is to enable your people to do their jobs to the best of their abilities. The “magic” of leadership is demonstrating that each and every task is vital to the success of the organization and that all contributions to that effort are praiseworthy.”

    You also said…

” Among other things, that means that errors committed by the people you lead are your responsibility and no one else’s. That is what I mean by “protecting your own”. You certainly don’t have them arrested or humiliate them in the press.”

    I agree with you.

Our current Mayor and his administration has FAILED to provide honest LEADERSHIP for everyone in Stratford. He has also FAILED to provide honest leadership of the Democratic Town Committee.

He has taken no responsability for anything that has gone wrong in our town.

    The electorate obviously agrees.

Mr. Harkins has a tough job ahead of him. Only time will tell if he is the LEADER we believe him to be.

    I believe he is.

  45. 45 jezebel282

    Anyone,

“(By now, George, you should know me better than that.)

See, you lost me on that one comment Jeze.”

Of course I did. Let me explain it so that even you will understand it. The reason you did not understand it and George did was because George can read and comprehend. You cannot. You are aware, at a low level, that this site has opposed the incompetence, corruption, lying, persecutions, and egomania of Miron for years. Therefore you tend to skim the postings looking for any key word or phrase with which you can attack whoever the writer is.

“I agree that a manager is only as succesful as the power and promotability of his people.”

Whew! Amazing. I use words like “enable”, “best”, “ability”, “success”, “responsibility” and “lead” while you respond with “power” and “promotability” and “crew”. I think that about says it all.

“That said, this whole relentless stupid miron thing really makes me discredit you and not want to engage in a conversation.”

LOL! Thank you for that non sequitur. It is interesting that you think I am the relentless one. However, you make no comment on any topic such as not ordering the firetrucks that the FD needs and the Council approved, or the use of Town resources for campaign purposes. Instead, you invariably attack the writer and not the subject.

“Is there any possible way that you can release your obsession with miron now that the election is over and maintain this site as a healthy, open site where views could finally be open, not as they have been over the past few years.”

Once again, had you read what was written you would realize that I believed that usefulness of this site had been completed after the election. The return to editing the site had been necessitated by 1. Chief Cavanaugh’s blatant lying and 2. Miron’s immature response to public safety needs.

“I think you are making a grave mistake and an insult to your credibility by not sticking behind your site.”

While I am absolutely positive there is nothing you would like better than to post on an anti-Harkins site or point fingers at some elected Republican, the opportunity has not presented itself yet. It is my hope that it won’t….but you never know. And this is not “my” site. I only maintain it. As you are aware, I did leave it up and running for others such as yourself to post.

( By the way, Anyone, did you notice that Laura Dobsz lost another election? That’s two in a row. You think she’ll try for three-pete in two years?)

  46. 46 jezebel282

    George,

“Will anyone bite out of curiosity?”

    Sigh…OK George, consider yourself bitten.

(But if I see “CIA”, “Exxon”, “FBI”…… my finger is poised over the “delete” key)

  47. 47 phineast

    “Sigh…OK George, Consider yourself bitten.”

Careful Jez…You will over excite him!

  48. 48 1george1

There was a question posed at Christ Church that I was unsure
of how to honestly answer, in no small part because we were
    only given 30 – 45 – 60 seconds to answer.

The question drawn out of the hat (Harkins)
“What would you do about noise levels of motor cycles and
    the affect on neighborhoods?”

  49. 49 1george1

Every car and truck has blind spots, and motorcycles are so small,
and some riders will speed and pass faster than many people can
react, unless they can HEAR the Motorcycles.

Motorcycles are nosier as and after they pass people, however the
loud noise can project to oncoming or traffic ahead of the rider.

A neighbor has a bike or a visitor drives a bike and it IS noise nusance
when it road past my home, not unlike the over head jets which have
awakened me at 2 – 3 – 4 am, except the motorcylce is normally at a
    decent evening hour.

Mr. P’s gets a few “Hells Angels” and the local “Wolf Pack” among other
groups of mostly wannabees. (Mostly – not completely – cleaned up.
Some are related to Stratford police or CT political justice people &
families of political people, especially the outlaw in-laws.)
However there are many business men and women who ride motor
    cycles recrationally.

The noise from motor cycles is a nusance.
However I believe, without that noise, there would be MORE accidents!

The LAW recognizes there is a need for noisy motorcycles for safety.
Some bikers intentionally make the BIKES noisier than the law allows,
in part because of saftey and in part because of their ,,,, personalities
….. which make me look like a highly rational conformist. ;)

The people of OSNA are home owners who spend rediculous amounts of
money on renovations to make sure their homes are HISTORICALLY correct,
the same way BIKERS love their BIKES and spend extra for the CHROME and
    PAINT and nuances.
Most hate MR. P’S – Hards Corner Cafe.
Some hate the WW II Monument. Espcially the night lighting.

I have had a week weeks to think about the question.
I am glad I did not have to answer the question.
There was NO way I could give an honest answer in 30 seconds that
was honest, logical, and fair to the audience, without gettting them
realy, really, really ticked at me, for not toeing the line.

This was different than the softball question of the PYE, since I do NOT
    believe PYE’s request was unreasonable.
    > NO EXPANSION
    > NO MOVING MAIN STREET
    > NO POLLUTION & NO UNREASONABLE NOISE

However, Marcia Stewart would also give LBW away fro FREE. I would not!

Marcia, woild be willing to PAY F & W totake LBW. I would not!

Marcia and friends want to close the Airport. I do not – Yet I am against
expansion and night takeoffs and landings beyond reasonable parameters
and I do not believe the airport should be, NOT needs to be expanded.

Quick – someone check to make sure Jeze was not abducted by aliens? ;)

    -

I can not disagree with Ron’s post.

    -

Jeze, please take it easy on Laura and having lost 2 elections.

1 – It is nice to have honest debate, with substantive issues.

2 – Despite some personality political conflicts, Laura is just as nice as
PCS and I suspect as nice as you. Laura did much for her gandparents
(1 died a few months ago) and I know you and PCS are family people!

3 – You and PCS would be surprized to learn Laura and you feel the
same way about “certain” people “not among Mironuts.”

4 – Most importantly :) … Laura only lost twice. I got killed for mayor
with only 2 votes four years ago and got 38 votes or 5.3 % vs. Gavin,
While this Council Vote I was up to about 7 % of Council Votes.
I really do not want to be the Adlai Stevenson of Stratford politics. :(
However at the rate of votes gained, I will be about 110 years old,
before I win an election! 8)

Last point – Does anybody now NOT understand that I anyways had
different parameters for winning the election, than getting the most
    votes?

Will anyone bite on that bait? :)

  51. 51 jezebel282

    George,

“1 – It is nice to have honest debate, with substantive issues.”

As you know, I love an honest debate. Anyonebutharkins doesn’t seem to like a debate. Personal attacks seem to be the only content.

    Some Mironistas never learn.

As for motorcycles and noise levels, I am definitely not convinced that it is a “safety” issue. Especially when so many riders refuse to wear helmets. Perhaps a nice dayglo orange outfit (hunter’s wear them for safety) with matching man-purse would be more appropriate.

I think the noise levels are just another “look at me” tactic calling attention to the only thing between their legs that’s big and powerful.

  52. 52 1george1

    Jeze,

I believe most of your argument is correct about motorcycles’ noise.

I will avoid temptation to add groups of people (both sexes) about
    your suggestions. ;)

However, as posted, NOISE is a PART of a legitimate argument and it is
allowed by legislation to allow BIKES to be noisey.

QUESTION: If “you were the Mayor” candidate at Christ Church, what would
    you answer be?
I honestly know some motorcycle noise is legit, while excessive is not.

    -

    Was this a surprize?
What would you have thought would have caught me in a dilema to answer?
    BAIT to ANYONE?

    Including TIN FOIL. :)

  53. 53 mikereynolds

Well George you are getting your wish. Kelly or Florek won’t be the Town Attorney.

But I’m sure your little conspiratorial mind will come up with a few doozies once the official announcement is made.

  54. 54 jezebel282

    George,

“QUESTION: If “you were the Mayor” candidate at Christ Church, what would
    you answer be?
I honestly know some motorcycle noise is legit, while excessive is not.”

The answer to the question is “nothing”. It is not a mayoral issue.

You may not have noticed, since they are always parked when you go to Mr. P’s or the Frog Pond, but motorcycles have wheels and can go far and fast.

It is an issue for the Department of Motor Vehicles, just as emissions and seat belts are regulated. You cannot stop motorcycles at the border and make them turn around if they are too loud or the rider wears no helmet.

  55. 55 1george1

    Mike,

I e-mailed Harkins and Malloy about the perception if the same old,
    same old are Town Attorneys.

    That includes:
Frank Blando, close to or related to DeCilio
Kurt Ahlberg, Catalano’s uncle by marriage and grandson to a Stfd Police Chief.
Tom Cotter, who worked for the State and Berchem
Ben Proto. who worked for the State and w Avaloone, who rents from Berchem
He also reps Harborside and was on CRC # 2 and past RTC Chair.

I would absolutely love it if Jim Miron, Kent Miller, and Rich Burturla
were named to be the Town Attorney.
Jeze would go nuts as would the town!

However, I would not be surprized to find Willinger & Bucci or a Hartford
firm to be appointed Town Attorney.

    -

Weizel’s story today is laying foundation to attack term limits, in which the
more important Constitutional Issues are hidden in Burturla’s opinion to
    C.R.C. # 2
    > Initiative – petition – referendum – plebiscite.

    Congratulations.
When those are gone, we approach a fascist police state.

After that, we can expect the double crossing of lawyers and police in
Stratford, as they will no longer be useful. :(

Mike > Ask not for whom the bell tolls …

  56. 56 1george1

Jeze is that your answer about motorcycle noise to the people at Christ Church?

  57. 57 jezebel282

    George,

“Jeze is that your answer about motorcycle noise to the people at Christ Church?”

Yes. We would be better off lobbying the DMV for regulations. We have 100 cops who would just love to distribute some extra tickets.

Failing that….some cleverly strung piano wire across a few strategic streets….

  58. 58 jezebel282

Ummm…that is if John Buturla would stop arresting cops and other Town employees.

“I know something you don’t know!”
“I know something you don’t know!”

I have found that sometimes postings on this blog is accurate.
Some times it has not been accurate.

What ever happens, will happen, and then we deal with it.

Truthfully, I hope PCS, JEZE and others are right about HARKINS.
However, the way I read Weizel’s column, no time will be wasted
going after Term Limits, with the real attack on Grandfathered
Rights under the Special Act Charter.

When, NOT IF, that happened, Stratford will be a FASCIST POLICE
STATE, if it is not already.
Mike – when your friends get what they think they want, they will
find they can be the first victims!

  61. 61 phineast

OK George, it’s official-you really must be out of your mind- Miron as a town attorney? Sure let’s give him as much or more power than the mayor..if he sucked at being mayor what makes you think he is any good at the other profession? We already know what Burturla is capable of–cha ching!, which is one of yours and Jez’s biggest complaints and Kent Miller? you can’t be serious!. As for the rest of your list.. I’ll wait and see what John picks, something tells me he is not stupid–so I don’t think we’ll see Willinger, Bucci, or “the Hartford firm” here and the public outcry about the Miron regime is loud and clear so I don’t think you will be seeing them in a leading capacity anytime soon. As always it will keep Stratford interesting.

Term limits according to the State are illegal–you can’t restrict an individual’s right to run-that is exactly how we got Miron shoved down our throats for the last 4 years. If it were to be challenged in court,( it really is no different than Miron’s CRC exclusion that was voided)who knows?
We already have been in a fascist police state for 4 years and we are finally breaking out of it-right now there is nothing to write about in town other than the immature antics of Miron-and honestly we are sick to death of the guy and look forward to his public announcement that he is really a Shelton resident-let Lauretti deal with him, no one here wants him.

Quite honestly if they go after term limits-the whole original and second charter revision could be null and void and put us back to the council manager form of government–so be very careful what you put out there–I didn’t want the mayor the first time around-I wonder after the Miron town raping how many would vote to keep the mayoral form of government….

  62. 62 jezebel282

    Phin,

“right now there is nothing to write about in town other than the immature antics of Miron”

While for the most part I wholeheartedly agree with you, we will be stuck with quite a bit of damage leftover from Mayor Moron. John Buturla, James Cavanaugh and Maurice McCarthy being some examples. Not to mention at least 3 serious ongoing lawsuits.

As we saw today, John Buturla still has his enemies list intact and Cavanaugh can’t tell the difference between a lie and the truth. McCarthy will simply do whatever it takes to keep his job and pension (talk about double dipping) no matter how it effects citizens.

Hopefully, Harkins will..ummm…errr…terminate, some of these problems.

However, there are others that have and will continue to plague the Town and will consume a lot of time and money. Raymark waste, SAEP (and toxic waste), LBW (still), the Theater and, of course, a budget in the midst of the worst recession in living memory.

At this point I do not think the Town nor John Harkins can afford politics as usual. Whoever he appoints/hires must be competent, honest, energetic and above all efficient. That pretty much eliminates anyone Miron hired.

I think much more will be written before this Town regains its reputation.

  63. 63 1george1

    LOL – LOL – giggle

Phin – I e-mailed an FOI to Burturla for a copy of his opinion
about TERM LIMITS. I can pick up Hard Copy from Gail for $ 8.50.

I asked for the Term Limits opinion in electronic attachment format.

I also looked at the Recall opinion in the C.R.C. # 2.

I have consistently writen the attorneys and the parties are after the
RIGHT TO PETITION / REFERENDUM, which is legal under the Special
Act Charter, but not in the Home Rule Act, which Burturla opines our
    Town Charter is now under.

You can find it under “RECALL” in the CRC # 2 Town Attorney Opinions.
However, when you click the Link, the topic becomes

    Recall/Initiative/Referendum

All of our Attorneys in town carefully avoid using the word PETITION!!

Does anyone want to know WHY?

I basically agree with the above post.

    However,

If the reserve fire truck is a 1979 truck and adding 12 to 15 years
for service, that brings it to 1991 to 1994, when somesone should
have bought a new or demo truck to replace it.

    Am I correct?

Somebody please answer as to what year was the proper time
to retire the reserve Fire Truck.

    Hey Georgie,
Next time, listen with BOTH ears when a discussion takes place. The reserve 1979 pumper was bought by the town within the last two years, NOT 1979. It was purchased from GK in Watertown, CT. It was traded into that company when the Thomaston FD purchased a new pumper from GK. So, there is the answer to your question.
In 1996, a plan to set a schedule to replace the old fleet was put into motion with the purchase of 2 new pumpers. After receiving these 2, the FD was looking to replace a pumper aproximately every 5 years unil the fleet was dependable. The next apparatus purchase was in 2000, when the fleet was in dire need of updating due to numerous break downs. This pumper was a DEMO PUMPER bought from the manufacturers factory (Pierce) & dealer. After purchasing a new pumper & ladder truck, the replacement program was once again talked about with no result. The 1979 reserve/spare was quickly purchased due to break downs followed by Another used truck from NJ to also be used as a reserve/spare.
So, a year later (WITH MUCH MONEY SPENT TO TRY TO DISCREDIT THE FIRST APPARATUS COMMITEE and a consultant to tell the fd what they need) and still no new fire apparatus.

    2005 – 2007
    2004 – 2005 he finished out Jamison Scott’s term
2003 – 2004 he sat out a year then circumvented term limits
1997 – 2003 he served 6 years on town council, and about 1999 -2001 he
and Kronenberg has a little issue where he got arrested, and then she
was run out of the town council and then run out of town.

This arrest had to do with alledgedly bidding while being on a town
council, where town councilors are/were not supposed to get ANY
money from the Town (despite a different Chairman serving while his
very nice wife worked for the council.

The Mayor had refused to sign an “emergency” waiver due to extra
$ 5,000 of the price of 2 Demo Fire Trucks, besides $ 100,000 for the
    equipment.
(I wonder if the equipment is coming from the same company which
sold those “rounded gold bricks” for the Fire House 300 % over cost?

But, but, bit DDBESS – Thank goodness Jimmy refused to sign that
    “Emergency Order!”

    Why?

Well, IF those FIRE TRUCKS were purchased in NOVEMBER 2009, then
the former Town Council Chairman might have violated ETHICS LAWS
    and STATUTES of LIMITATIONS…..

Isn’t it a good thing, ESQ. James Miron is sooo petulant on this issue?
Otherwise finder’s fees or Sales Commission might come under Ethics
    Clouds, wouldn’t they?

Is there anyone else who wonders why NO FIRE TRUCK was bought
about 2000 – 2002, AND then another FIRE TRUCK could have been
    bought 2006 – 2008.

After all, what is more important?

Having SAFE EQUIPMENT and PUBLIC SAFETY, or who would collect
Commission or Finder’s Fees, while getting the best possible price
for the best possible appropriate equipment for PUBLIC SAFETY and
for the ability of our professionals to be able to safely do their job?

    George,

Here’s the thing about firefghters: They only want to save your life.

When you throw political sand in the works, the ones who suffer the most are us.

The rank & file of most fire departments think that the need to save lives is a priority with their administration and Town leaders as well. They do not comprehend that they can become a political chip in the game. Maybe sometimes they are too busy polishing stuff or playing high school games like “this is MAN’S work” to notice. Perhaps they are just not accustomed to being lied to. I have a feeling that our FD will eventually mature enough to be able to tell who is lying and who is not.

Their dilemma is much like the PD’s. They originally welcomed John Buturla as a professional. They learned the hard way. The FD is slowly learning about Cavanaugh. How many times do you have to lie to be thought of as a liar?

What is amazing is that New England Fire Equipment always seems to have the “best” prices in the continental U.S. It is a wonder they stay in business with such low profit margins….isn’t it?

    ddbess,

“Somebody please answer as to what year was the proper time to retire the reserve Fire Truck.”

My guess would be when you can no longer get 8 track tapes for it.

No disagreement about post # 66.

    In fact I completely agree.

Before, repeat before, it became an NBC tag line,
I told John Burturla that on 9/11
police, fire, ems, & military ran towards, repeat ran towards

    danger.

I just sent Jeze an e-mail with a link to “BEFORE YOU GO”

It is the WW II version of a song with pictures of our heroes.

There are Korean War and Vietnam versions as well.

I tried to GOOGLE to find it.
Pages 1 had another song with the same name?

One more time just in case anyone forgot:

    Chief rebuts Fire Department allegations
    Updated: 10/28/2009 04:14:38 PM EDT

In response to the letter written by Stratford Assistant Fire Chief Tom Murray, I would like to set the record straight with the truth.

Mayor James Miron and his administration understand and appreciate the importance of securing and maintaining quality fire equipment for the protection of our community and our firefighters.

As fire chief for the Stratford Fire Department, I want to assure town residents that they are safe and protected. We have the finest and best-trained firefighters in the state operating with a system that puts them at the scene of an incident within minutes of every call. Our current apparatus is older, I would agree, but it is functional, safe and effective.

New fire equipment has been funded at the request of Mayor Miron. Protective eye gear, replacement turn out gear and 36 new portable radios have been ordered for the department. A replacement pumper was purchased and equipped for $197,000 in 2008 as well as funding secured for a rescue pumper. Unfortunately, after repeated requests by the mayor, the Town Council did not provide adequate funding to purchase the badly needed pumper.

The responsibility for department morale and performance lies with the former leadership of the Fire Department, not with Mayor Miron. They had a responsibility to advocate for the fire service, to set priorities and see that they were funded. However, lack of funding in the past for equipment such as turn out gear and protective eye gear was not an administrative failure but one of Town Council neglect.

Mayor Miron has restored pride to the fire service by choosing to serve the people of Stratford and the needs of our first responders, not the demands of the public safety unions.

The negative statements in Assistant Chief Tom Murray’s letter about the Stratford Fire Department are untrue and have cast the department in an awfully bad light. I appreciate the opportunity to set the record straight. It is a pleasure to serve the residents of Stratford and lead this department of dedicated fire professionals.

    James J. Cavanaugh
    Fire Chief
    Stratford

    And today:

Controversy ignites over Stratford fire truck acquistion
    By Richard Weizel
    STAFF WRITER

“…Fire Chief James Cavanaugh, Deputy Chief Curtis Maffet and Assistant Chief Dan Ross told council members at a recent meeting that aging fire equipment needs to be replaced immediately, having broken down en route to fires. Officials also have been forced to borrow trucks from surrounding communities to provide back up.”

Quite a difference from ” it is functional, safe and effective.”

Does anyone see the problem with a Fire Chief that lies to the public?

Does anyone see the problem when the Fire Chief slams Fire Department members for speaking the truth?

This isn’t Waterbury, Mr. Cavanaugh. I think your welcome has expired. We need professionals to protect us and save lives, not political hacks.

Why not e-mail to CT. POST – STAR – WICC – NEWS 12 – WTNH?

After the election and change in his Stratford (boss) Mayor, the
Fire Chief directly contradicts statements to Town Council, made
    prior to the election!

I wonder what DDBest/Sudds would blog?

    Yo Mike R,

Will our new Town Attorney frequent Bishop’s Corner? ;)

  70. 70 jezebel282

    George,

A Bishop can be more powerful than a rook.

And I think we’ve been rooked enough.

  71. 71 1george1

    Jeze,

    Right word.
    Correct analysis and projection.

  72. 72 mikereynolds

    I’m sure he will George.

The CT Post is reporting again that Mayor Jim Miron won’t approve the purchase of the the two fire trucks.

If Jim Miron wasn’t so childish and vindictive he would put his personal feelings aside and do what is right for this town.

Have mistakes been made in the past by the council? Yes. Have mistakes been made by the Mayor? Yes. Now get past it and as his final act as Mayor he can serve the town and provide them a benefit that will last 20 years. By giving the approval to purchase these trucks it would be the best thing Jim Miron ever did for Stratford.

  74. 74 1george1

    Mike,
If Miron did approve the truck and cut the P.O. under the Ethical
limit for a certain person to be able to collect a Commission, I
    would be completely surprized.
    Wouldn’t you?

Why have the mostly Republican Town Councils, with a Fireman on
them for almost 9 of the past 12 years hold back the purchase of the
    fire truck?

Could they be smoke screens for certain FOP Pensions?

    Not in Stratford? ;)

  75. 75 jezebel282

    Solution:

New England Fire Equipment takes it’s finders fee and donates at least half to Sterling House and takes the tax deduction instead.

  76. 76 jezebel282

    Mike,

“If Jim Miron wasn’t so childish and vindictive”

After four years you are hoping he acts like a grown up?

I mean, really…gimme a break. Miron has never acted for benefit of anyone but Miron. He has always been vindictive and hateful. This time it was not only the PD and FD unions that rejected him but the voters as well. This is his payback. Payback is the most important thing to a Miron.

What Miron really should be mad at are the Administrators and DTC members who told him how smart he was and how he was going to win easily. They only fed his fantasies.

Jimmy actually thought he did a good job and he appears to have
felt there were people employed in Stratford that did not do a
good job. At least not doing the job the way he wanted it done.
    > His M. O. on career elimination and capricious patronaged made
me view his tactics as completely analygous to my USPS experience.
    > Some capable and decent people were innecessarily hurt.
And the loss of some was causal to a step down for the town.
    > Hires based on politics, even some very capable people, are after
all based on politics and loyalty to the system and titulatar heads.

The time table is such where Harkins will benefit from everything
intentionally held back. Yet those causal to the problems still will
suck blood from the “stones,” “rocks,” and “pillars” of the community.
