The Next Guy/Gal

14Nov08

This may be a bit premature, but I thought it might be as good a time as any. I’d like to take credit, but Pat Sperling came up with it first. This is a space to debate the upcoming mayoral election season (probably sometime in January 09). Who should run? What should their agenda be? How will they win?

Note to Mironistas: Be prepared to list some accomplishments, explanations and vision with, you know, details.

  1. Jeze ~

I don’t think it’s premature at all. There are a couple names I can think of right off the top. I’m sure we could toss in a few more too.

For the democrats – a guy like Gavin Forrester. He’s shown definite commitment to the Town and it’s many issues. He’s no afraid to roll up his sleeves and get in there with the rest of the people

For the republicans – you know my pick – John Harkins. While I don’t know him on a personal level, I have dealt (I won’t say “work” for fear of being crucified by a certain DTC member) with him with respect to the railroad station for the last couple years. He too has a definite commitment to the Town of Stratford and gets right in their with the people.

Here’s the list I’ve come up with so far:

The top of my list would be a COMPLETE forensic audit of what occurred over the last four years in Town Hall. It would be the stepping stone to cutting out the BS spending.

The Mayor’s office is top heavy with personnel. All it should take is the Mayor, CAO and one good, experienced executive secretary. There’s no reason that secretary can’t be shared by both the Mayor and CAO.

Once the bunker is cleared of unnecessary, overpaid “administrative” and “public relations” employees, an in-house general counsel/town attorney position should be created. It should be a hired position rather than an appointed position. This person would be tasked with dealing with the day-to-day issues that arise that require legal assistance. There may be times when outside counsel is necessary, but by having an in-house for day-to-day, there would be a significant cost-savings to the Town.

Whimsical spending needs to end – back to basics! I’m sure the forensic audit will uncover an exorbitant amount of unnecessary spending.

There should only be a couple – and I mean that, a couple – town employees who should be provided a car 24/7. We shouldn’t have to foot the bill for 24/7 gas, insurance, lease fees, etc.

The most important item for the next mayor – no matter who it is – is to gain the respect of the people, taxpayers and employees. That’s one thing that hasn’t been able to be attained yet.

  2. P.S. I’ve said it before and I’m going to say it again – like it or not – the 2009 mayoral election cannot be flooded with ego-inflated wannabes. It will no doubt create another four years of hell. It’s time to be serious and the candidates have to be in it to win it!

While there’s a rumour circulating that he may not run, if he does and the candidate pool is again diluted, we’re looking at the same old story for another four years.

  3. 3 1george1

I believe I can expose most of the pool of candidate anyone on
this blog can post. When the time is right.

  4. 4 jezebel282

    Pat,

For the most part, I agree. Unfortunately, the CRC II failed to amend the Charter to create an independent Town Attorney. The next mayor will appoint one and the Council will approve him/her. It’s better, but not the best. The attorney would still serve at the pleasure of the mayor, but the mayor may set his full time salary.

  5. 5 jezebel282

    George,

“I believe I can expose most of the pool of candidate”

At least give us a few minutes warning. I doubt anyone would want to see these people exposed.

    (Shudder)

  6. George ~

I have yet to meet a person with no skeletons in their closet – that’s part of life, and it’s what you do after those closets/doors are closed that is and should be important.

  7. 7 1george1

From what I know these parasites have actively been involved in
    stalling economic developement;
    steering business elsewhere;
    giving away tax money to moochers;
intentionally allowing funding woutside sources to be lower than legal or
    available;
    abused public trust;
    manipulated the system;

It is not like any of the readers of this blog do not know what is going on.
However, it is allowed for quid pro quo.

  8. 8 genericscreename

    Et Al:

What a great concept for a new blog topic. I have to agree from a democratic perspective Gavin Forrester would be the most beneficial candidate for the town from their party.

John Harkins would be un-beatable if he were to toss his name in on the Republican side, Jon Best would not have a chance against him.

Another possible alternate candidate for the RTC could possibly be Tom Moore, he has the requisite integrity and background in my humble opinion., Although Tom also would not have a chance should Harkins put his name out there.

With respect to skeletons, your right, however ( and I am dreaming right now, pinch me and wake me up), there should be some sort of “standard” established when considering what a “Skeleton” would be. For example, A candidates personal life, ( ie relationship with spouse), children and relatives should be off limits. ( one can choose friends and not family).

A candidates financial position should be released at the discretion of the candidate, not the press. When considering what goes on behind closed doors, ( in my opinion), as long as it is not illegal, or involves children or animals), then that also should not be made public. A persons personal life should be their business and no one elses. Religion included.

  9. Generic ~

I also had Tom Moore on my list. He’s has a few terms on the council, and has a great working knowledge of the Town. He was also very instrumental in getting the financial review board we now have. I’ve spoken to him as well and have a great deal of respect for him as well.

I wish there were other dems I could toss around too, but Gavin is the only one I consider to be the most “honest” as far as politicians go.

I’m sure George will have his 2 cents to toss in here, but these are names I consider to be well above board when compared against the current administration, and I believe they would be much more honest with the people of this Town than we’ve seen of late.

  10. 10 1george1

Everyone mentioned has known exactly what has been happening for the
last 20 years and have been part of the problem or/and did not expose it.

If GAVIN came public, naming names and spouting details, if he lived, he would
get my vote and I would work for his election.

There are literally hundreds of people who actively abused the system for
personal gain, in my opinion, to varying degrees (pun intended).

There are a few thousand unwitting people who benefitted.

Why should any rock the boat, or inform on the getaway ARMORED CAR
for the GRAND THEFT involving BILLIONS over an extended period of time,
    just in Stratford.

Bridgeport’s economic development will be much greater and therefore
the crimes against their citizens is far worse.

YET an UNINVESTIGATED CRIME is an UNSUBSTANCIATED CRIME. 😉

Old Joke of southern sheriff (Kane’s relative?)

Black man found in a lake, with a rope around his neck, hands tied,
stabbed dozens of times, shot like target practice,

Sheriff states: “Worse case of suicide I ever saw.”

That is our criminal justice system.
Burturlas / Mirons are just a tine part of the problem.
Cowards and criminal who swear oath and the violate positions
of Trust and Profit or Fiduciary obligations are the rule not the
    exception.

When I see town committee meetings, I am reminded of HS.
I think of all of the kids who got good grades by cheating on tests.

    To them it is OK.

To bend the rules and play favorites and work with buddies such
as Freedom of Speech described months ago is status quo of who
    you KNOW and who B…!

    All QUID pro QUO.

There is no MISPRISON in the USA.
However if you know a crime exists, will exist, or did exist, one becomes
    and accessory after the fact.

Despite the fact these will never be investigated, in order to be considered
crimes – – – NO ONE of these people are Stupid.

Not even Henrick, despite appearances, someone told me he was among
the more intelligent of the group.

They all KNOW what they are doing and have done.

    Peer Pressure?
    Poor Ethics and Parenting?
Faulty foundations in the 5 pillars?
Perversion of the Golden Rule & 10 commandment or US CODE.

    They just don’t get it.

What has happened in the USA can not be fixed, with the same modus
operendi and criminal core. There have to be real values.

That includes NOT taken advantage of people and not letting the
    public not know about abuses!

That is why I can not support Gavin, Tom, Harkins, Jon, Miron, Burturla,
Imbro, Henrick, Schirillo, Kelly, Williams, Kubec, Florek, and others.

Outside of political decisions – I have nominal issues with them and I like
    many of them, as PEOPLE.

Politically, NONE DESERVE to be in OFFICE, in my opinion!

  11. Don’t mean to stray off the subject of a future mayoral candidate – but I have some news. One of the town supervisor’s discharged by the mayor has actually WON her job back. Her case brought before the State Labor Board by her union has been sustained and the mayor has to restore her to the work force. Happy thanksgiving to her and her family!

  12. OMG! Congratulations!

  13. 13 1george1

I am happy for the supervisor.

I am truly happy for her.

Unfortunately, she will go back to a hostile work environment.
There is a limit to what the union, or NLRB or others can do.
They are REACTIVE rather than PROACTIVE

Too bad the compensation did not come out of the pockets
of the decision makers rather than tax payers.

My post on # 10 needs some context about reporting crimes,
potential crimes, and abuses, before the fact, to the fact, or
after the fact. OR FRAUD in the factum, instrinsic or extrinsic.

    What do you do if:
    1. You see an old lady knocked to the ground and purse stolen?

    2. A child being beaten, unmercifully.

    3. Vandalism being done to a home or store.

    4. You hear a salesman OUT RIGHT LIE to a PROSPECT.

    5. You see the computer overcharged someone.

    6. You see people double billed or overbilled.

    7. You see overtime being stolen.

    8. You see equipment being stolen.

When the same group of DTC & RTC allows abuses and makes nothing
public and does not stop abuses of children being beaten (out of what
they are owed) and old women being robbed – do they deserve your
    vote?

    George,

Notwithstanding the fact that your last post is rambling on and on, is there anyone in the entire state of CT, who would meet those standards which you need to be a viable candidate?

I think you received 20 or so votes in the last mayoral election?, so does that mean, those 20 or so people will be your campaign committee? I mean no disrespect here but not everyone who is posting believes most of this stuff.

How many conspiracies can run concurrent in one town? I had some time this morning and decided to read backwards on the blog and have concluded in my own mind you need to really think about what you are saying. If you want to get more than 20 votes you need to be realistic in your theories.

Some of your postings remind me of when Laroche ran with the libertarian party, he handed out flyers stating that the queen of England was behind the drug cartels. Paranoia is not a good thing, checks and balances are.

Candidates, current, past or potential all have similar personality traits which are necessary in order to get elected. People who are quiet, not outspoken and who do not handle conflict well, who are afraid to speak their mind make lousy candidates. Although someone of that caliber who has the requisite intelligence and ability to lead this town will never surface because of the missing personality traits. What is left then are those people who you talk about ( i am generalizing to make a point).

Gavin: He is not afraid to speak his mind, he is well versed in accounting and finance, understand the statutes and is aggressive.

Tom Moore, He is focused, outspoken when necessary, works very well behind the scenes in investigative and analysis of data. He knows how to “look” for information.

John Harkins: He is an accomplished politician. Clearly levels above the balance of those whose names are being tossed around. He understands, knows how the systems work and makes it work to benefit constituents.

Jon Best, Ok, I will yield to you on that one, it is clear he has a separate agenda, is being led by others in the background. This blog has already exposed those in the current administration who supported him in the past.

Jim Miron, In my opinion, whether it be Jim or Jon or Dom or Tom or Ed or even , yes even you, the first mayor of this town would have had multiple issues, fights, struggles, political maneuvering, extensive digging by the press and citizens, considerable critics and even a few law suits, complaints and frustrations. That mayor would have had the same issues this mayor encountered when “changing of the guard” and breaking down the the power centers in an attempt to centralize the power. ( any politician would attempt to do this, myself included if I were to become a politician) Therefore I will not comment on specifics with Miron, only opine relative to the prose topic of individuals mentioned herein. It is clear, he is controlled by advice of others and at times it is clear he does not ask for advice and suffers the consequences of his actions. As a result, all of those I have mentioned in here will or would have been “one and done”

Buturla: He is a great attorney, his track record speaks for itself. obviously carries influence, power and an ability to maintain his position over the years. ( I would like to offer that, BMD not only represents Stratford, but other municipalities too, and would suspect that municipal law, corporate council stuff is a specialty in and of itself). It is obvious that Buturla is well positioned. He has held office in this town and so far, other than issues posted relative to fee’s and alliances he has been consistent. I doubt you will ever see him as a candidate again.

Imbro: Retired chief of police, worked his way up through the ranks. I have no clue if he has skeletons, political aspirations or otherwise, but have never heard anything about scandals etc. Before he retired there were some critics who did not like him as a chief of police, but I suspect that comes with the position.

Schirillo, I have nothing but the utmost respect for the man, political party relationship notwithstanding. He is passionate about this town, never had any issues when he was a councilmen and continues to work the system quietly in the background. I wish he were a republican, I believe he also could make a viable candidate from the democratic side.

Kelly: A litigator, not sure if he ever held office, he has his own very small power center in the RTC, (the minority) and in my opinion is intelligent enough to not create enough of controversy to blacklist himself from town attorney assignments. I do not feel he has the support town wide to ever make a viable run for office of mayor.

Kubic: Arrogant, obnoxious to the point he is toxic. He is controversial, and is a part of the minority in the RTC, based on the last elections, he was lucky he got elected, I doubt that if he were to consider a run for mayor, he would gain more than 18 or 20 votes of support out of the RTC.

Florek: Forget about it, he is a quiet, backroom attorney when politics are concerned these days. He supports his party quite well, but i doubt he will ever seek a mayoral run or get enough support to do so.

As for the “others” you leave out, only time will tell if they can come forth and present themselves as viable candidates. I am sure as PCS said earlier about skeleton that every single individual in existence since before Christ walked the earth has some sort of skeleton in their closet. The only difference is in what the populace decides the definition of a skeleton to be.

And as you said ” outside of political decisions”, This is politics, for every yes vote you make one group happy and piss of another group. I do not remember any politician who was loved or respected by everyone on both sides of the isle and those in the middle.

  15. 15 genericscreename

    George,

In response to your last post, and the question “what do you do”?

Answer: You do the right thing. YOU HELP OTHERS, live by the golden rule of Do Unto Others……..

    No further explanation necessary

  16. Generic ~

    Very well said!

One of the most important things – and I hope members of the RTC are reading this blog – is for them to come out strong and supportive rather than as fractionized as they have appeared in past years. 2009 is an important year for Stratford and the RTC needs to get their sh*t together this time around. Remember there were more votes AGAINST Jim Miron than for him; however, he won merely because he had the most votes. If all those that voted against im were for one candidate, who knows where we’d be. I do agree that the first mayor had no way around the microscope, but I do think that in the last 3 years, better choices could have been made by the current administration. There was money spent that didn’t need to be spent, there were jobs created that weren’t necessary and people terminated that shouldn’t have been.

Whoever it is, the next mayor needs to “AED” the Town of Stratford back to life. Right now, the heartbeat is very heard to hear.

  17. 17 1george1

    Generic,

It is very interesting the esteem you hold the people mentioned.
    Intelligent? Yes.
    Accomplished? Yes.
    Good Family people? Yes.
Are they probably more respectable than many others? Yes.

Have they been good politically for Startford? I say no.

This is a political blog. My attacks and positions look at the last 20 years,
in which all of your potential mayor candidates appear to have back door
deals AND/OR remain “mum” on what they know has transpired.

Do I know that they know specifically X or Y or Z? No

I believe most people know part of the picture, but not everyone
    knows the whole picture (locally)

As for England running drugs in the USA, AMERICAN GANGSTA (KNAPP
COMMISSION) and AIR AMERICA claims it was the CIA – DOD who did the
DRUG running. I have enough Nam friends to believe it was partially true.

However, England and the Dutch had their resoective East India companies.
India was the first country conquored by Business.
The British – Sino opium war occurred related to China trying to close
the otherwise free market of India opium into China.

Who were the ships running the drugs? Supposedly founders of Skull and
Bones and even the Delano Family.

Interesting Eisenhower predicted internal usurpation 1/1961, 4 months
after the creation of O.P.E.C. (end Texas RR Commission as Oil price set)

    JFK – MLK – RFK
    Then McNamara – LBJ quit
    Teddy CHAP pa QUID dick – M J K o.p.e.c.hne
    Nixon – watergate
RAY GUN – I RAN CONN T RA
Pardoned “Deep Throat” for “Black Bag Jobs.”

Interesting about DRUGS in the USA.

    1960s
    1970s
    1980s
    1990s (early)

NO ONE ACCUSED the RUSSIANS, CUBANS or SOCIALISTS of
    DRUG TRAFFIC.

Mostly it was the children, gradnchildren, and great grandchildren of
the financiers of Prohibition and politicians for politicians and after,
who seems to TALK BIG and act small.

RELEVANCY appropriate to the point above by generic who is proving
    intriguing.

    Last point.
I agree with the golden rule and practice it.
This is political blog about political decisions.
I try to avoid personal attacks.
There are lives and livelihoods which are affected by political decisions.
Have I ever advocating harming or firing anyone? I think not.
    (Maybe recall?) 😉
Have I sought good and fair pay, pensions, and benefits? Yes. Because I
believe they were never intended to be sustained and I do not believe
existing levels are sustainable, even before this USA mess.

What I blog here is what I believe to be true and would like to convert
people into seeing the harm they do and peacefully with thoughtful,
though often harsh words, effect change.

Many will reject my positions. I am imperfect.
But like most others, I strive for a more perfect union…

  18. 18 jezebel282

Sorry all, I had some connectile dysfunction today.

Just for grins, my favorite Republican candidate would be Jennifer Hillgen. Aside from her other qualities, she could actually look Irene Cornish in the eye.

  19. I do admire Jennifer Hillgen as well. She was very helpful when she was on the council.

    George,

I have a suggestion for you. I think you should begin attending the DTC and RTC meetings each month, then post the conclusions as observed by your presence at the meetings on this blog, that way you can keep the rest of the town up to date on the internal happenings of the respective political parties.

  21. 21 1george1

Nov 15, 2008 Blog stratfordcharter.wordpress.com/ rebuttal of opinions
of a generic blogger about potential mayoral candidate who are mostly
LAWYERS, POLICE, STATE POLICE, EMS and or have FAMILY in same:

Generic, I did not have time to look carefully at your positions and it appears
I am going to have repost my letter to the Editor about BERCHEM

This indicates you are a Republican:
Schirillo, I have nothing but the utmost respect for the man, political party relationship notwithstanding. He is passionate about this town, never had any issues when he was a councilmen and continues to work the system quietly in the background. I wish he were a republican, I believe he also could make a viable candidate from the democratic side. >>> (Schirillo = CT. STATE TROOPER)

    As for your suggestion:
I have a suggestion for you. I think you should begin attending the DTC and RTC meetings each month
You do know that ONLY Republicans can attend the RTC Meetings, by bylaw,
and now since they are HELD in a PRIVATE “COUNTRY CLUB” -it goes double!

    TRUE and OBVIOUS:
And as you said ” outside of political decisions”, This is politics, for every yes vote you make one group happy and piss of another group. I do not remember any politician who was loved or respected by everyone on both sides of the isle and those in the middle.

    EXCEPTIONALLY INTERESTING:
Jon Best, Ok, I will yield to you on that one, it is clear he has a separate
agenda, is being led by others in the background.
(By WHOM? LOCAL – STATE – AREA – NATIONAL?)
    >>> (JON BEST resume is filled with working for LAWYERS and GOVERNMENTS)
(Who leads PROTO?) >>> (PROTO = LAWYER, ex-State of CT.)

This blog has already exposed those in the current administration
who supported him in the past.

EDITTED version of Channel # 79 version of ST JOSEPH Oct 2007 Debate
among Town Council candidates, skipped about 22 positions and additional
comments about the Town Charter, but STARTED back up with KUBEC’S
Very Capable DEFENSE of the REVISED CHARTER – He was on C. R. C. #1 >
    >>> (KUBEC is a MILFORD LAWYER.)

Kubic: Arrogant, obnoxious to the point he is toxic. He is controversial,
and is a part of the minority in the RTC, based on the last elections,
he was lucky he got elected, I doubt that if he were to consider a run
for mayor, he would gain more than 18 or 20 votes of support out of the RTC.

Kubic, Gavin, & Tom Moore were the people picking the FAC, Financial
Advisory Commission. Mike Julian was the one who was chosen to introduce
the specifically phrase issues about 7 POLICE RETIREES of January 2008 and
specifically excluded 2 January 2008 FIRE and 1 PW retire(s) of Feb.
    – I believe the intent was exculpation of Police Chief Michael Imbro and
John >>> (Retired CT TROOPER) Burturla’s roles in the 2008 retired Police O. T.
    >>> (ex Stratford POLICE CHIEF Imbro is Tom Moore’s Bro-in-Law and a Milford resident, domocile of Berchem, Moses, & Devlin – and future governor Amman.)

Gavin: He is not afraid to speak his mind, he is well versed in accounting
and finance, understand the statutes and is aggressive.

GAVIN (is the MOST CAPABLE PERSON in local politics) and is capable of
questions near the ability of Darrell Issa and Dennis Kucinich of House
Oversight Subcommitte Hearing on Foreclosure Prevention
Treasury Interim Asst. Sec. Neel Kashkari went to Capitol Hill to explain
changes to the $700 billion Federal Intervention Plan, which no longer
included buying troubled assets. *(Role Tag Name: Kneel Cash N Carry)
GAVIN’S involvement in Town and EMS is exceptions.
I have CRUCIAL critical political questions about political positions. GAVIN’S
capablity and political position are disturbing contradictions for me.
    >>> (GAVIN is neither LAWYER nor POLICE, but INSURANCE EMPLOYER is in the
    EXPERTISE of Berchem.)

Tom Moore, He is focused, outspoken when necessary, works very well
behind the scenes in investigative and analysis of data. He knows how to
“look” for information. >>> (Tom is a retired CT. STATE TROOPER)

TOM tells me I know how to “look” for information for investigative and
analysis of data. I like Tom as a person.
I have issues with the politicization of the FAC, among other things.

    Tom’s Brother in law:

Imbro: Retired chief of police, worked his way up through the ranks.
I have no clue if he has skeletons, political aspirations or otherwise,
but have never heard anything about scandals etc.

There was a lower incidence of “apparently natural deaths” during his
tenure as police chief and a couple of police car following ceased after
I talked to Imbro. He also promised to OPEN an INVESTIGATION if I could
bring a single added complainant about the “apparently natural deaths.”
    CATCH 22
1 – Several people believe my theory. NONE TRUST the police.

    2 – The police & D. C. FBI have the expertise I need to prove CRIME (S)
OCCURED. A suspected robbery or vandalism or more would be investigated
but the burden was on me to prove a CRIME EXISTED or COULD EXIST?

    3 – My ability:

A – Since I initially (for 2 – 3years) was in denial, it is reasonable others
would be hard pressed to believe me.

B – Since I could not originally and for a long time understand WWWWWH,
it was impossible for me to explain.

C – I am emotionally attached to issues of “apparently natural deaths.” This
causes loss of focus and I have been known to ramble.

D – I have exceptional communications skills. Verbal. Writing (not professional).
Great listener. Competent logic and analytics. I have had conversations with
leaders of Billion Dollar Corporations and tens of thousands of business
decision makers with budgets of 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10 digits. Some, not many, are
definitely my intellectual superior. Others are undoubtedly intellectual superior.
    – Had I not been a chosen target ………….
A question Mr. Imbro raised made me understand an investigation would go
nowhere under him and also to the core of Job Comforter schadenfreude.
    The question was WHY ME?
By that time, I had an excellent idea there is an ideological fraternal reason.

I like Harkins. I agree he has done some good. He also gets GRADE A for one of
his CT. POST Publications about ELECTION ADVANTAGES for INCUMBANTS
But lie down with a flea infested D. O. G…..

John Harkins: He is an accomplished politician. Clearly levels above the balance
of those whose names are being tossed around. He understands, knows how the systems work and makes it work to benefit constituents.

GENERIC VALUES “WORKING IN THE BACKGROUND & QUIETLY”

Schirillo, I have nothing but the utmost respect for the man, political party relationship notwithstanding. He is passionate about this town, never had
any issues when he was a councilmen and continues to
    >>>>> work the system “quietly” in the background. (State Trooper)

Tom Moore, He is focused, “outspoken when necessary,”
    >>>>> works very well behind the scenes
in investigative and analysis of data. (ex-State Trooper)

Florek: Forget about it, he is a “quiet,” (Lawyer)
    >>>>> backroom attorney
when politics are concerned these days. He supports his party quite well,
but I doubt he will ever seek a mayoral run or get enough support to do so.

GENERIC, are you for or against
    TRANSPARENCY?
    GOOD GOVERNMENT?
    PERSONAL POLITICAL RESPONSIBILITY?
    PARTY SUPPORT over PUBLIC INTEREST?

Kelly: A litigator, not sure if he ever held office, he has his own very
small power center in the RTC, (the minority) and in my opinion is
intelligent enough to not create enough of controversy to
blacklist himself from town attorney assignments.
I do not feel he has the support town wide to ever make a viable
run for office of mayor. >>> (Kelly is a LAWYER – Worked for Blumenthal
    and bro-in-law of Kevin Williams)

HIS time as TOWN ATTORNEY gave him a substantial base for a very
lucrative PRIVATE PRACTICE which I suspect KEVIN WILLIAMS will become
a partner in, when WILLIAMS retires from his CT STATE JOB.

WILLIAMS – KUBEC – FLOREK go back to the 1991 Town Council, just
after the Burturla Town Chaired Council, when they and Dick Miron
were making their Bones and becoming the equivalent of “made men.”

Florek: Forget about it, he is a “quiet,” >>>>> backroom attorney
when politics are concerned these days. He supports his party quite well,
but I doubt he will ever seek a mayoral run or get enough support to do so.

1991 Town Attorney – 2008 C. R. C. Chair, while on paid position of Housing
Authority attorney “serving at the pleasure of” Town Attorney Burturla
who SERVES at the pleasure of Esq. / Mayor Miron.
Yet Florek is a Republican and Miron / Burturla are Democrats.
Yet Florek “supports his party quite well” ????

My opinion on the below is UNF—INGPRINTABLE:

Burturla: He is a great attorney, his track record speaks for itself.
obviously carries influence, power and an ability to maintain his
    position over the years.

(I would like to offer that, BMD not only represents Stratford,
but other municipalities too, and would suspect that municipal law,
corporate council stuff is a specialty in and of itself).

It is obvious that Burturla is well positioned. He has held office in
this town and so far, other than issues posted relative to fee’s
and alliances he has been consistent.
I doubt you will ever see him as a candidate again.

    – I wonder if Generic is either looking for a job with Berchem
or already works for the scumbags?

Generic lists people who are/were exclusively Lawyers, Police, and EMS.
    Is this a remarkable coincidence?
Remind anyone of a POLICE STATE?
Another name for police state = FASCISM!
Cause for Stratford’s problems from closed inner circles?

    George,

No I have no aspirations to ever go to law school…

Response to Genericscreenname attempt with the usual belittling
and showing off his decent knowledge of varieties of surveillance.
This one was fun to partially take apart.

    Generic,

    You are right on 100 % …

    Happy New Year to everyone.

Let’s hope this is the last new year Jim Miron celebrates as Stratford’s Mayor.

  25. 25 jezebel282

    Mike,

    Here, here!

    Ditto and then some…….

    Word up….

When my Letters to the Editor get published, they don’t make either
party look good. Yet tend to make the Administration look worse…

What affirmative action are any bloggers taking tiwards that end?

What realistic alternatives are the bloggers offering to the Public, rather than
    benefitting the bloggers friends?

I want to wish everyone a Happy and Healthy New Year. My New Years wish is that anyone who has been wronged gets justice, that things going on in Stratford ceases and Stratford becomes our Town For All Season again.

My wish is to stop editing this blog because there is no reason.

  32. 32 1george1

    Jeze,
You can grant your own wish, by stop trying to impose your will
    and your prejudices on me.

    We agree on certain injustices.

We disagree on some other things on causal ….

  33. 33 jezebel282

    George,

“You can grant your own wish, by stop trying to impose your will and your prejudices on me.”

    I have never done that.

I have only asked you to keep your posts relevant to the topic. When you have not, I have edited you. When you have posted on the pages I’ve given you, you have never been edited.

When you take a math test and you explain the causes of the revolutionary war, the teacher will fail you because it is irrelevant to the question. You may be exactly right about the causes of the revolutionary war….but that wasn’t the question.

Note: the above was analogy, George. I am not a teacher, you are not a student. It was an example. Don’t start with me.
