Cops: Man killed skunk with golf club
Updated: 11/18/2008 11:42:47 PM EST

STRATFORD — The groundskeeper at the Mill River Country Club has been arrested after police said he beat a skunk to death with a golf club.

Kadeem Palmer, 19, of Tomlinson Place, was charged Tuesday with cruelty to animals. He was released on a promise to appear in court.

The charges were lodged after a woman complained that she saw Palmer at the golf course taking swings with a golf club at a skunk.

Police said they went to the course’s maintenance shack and confronted Palmer, who allegedly admitted killing the skunk. Asked if he had used a golf club, police said Palmer replied: “Yes, but the thing was almost dead anyway.”

Estelle Denaro, finance manager of the country club, declined to comment on the incident.

Apparently a quick call to Buturla/Loschiavo can get anyone arrested for any reason in Stratford.

Currently illegal:

Trimming hedges
Killing vermin
Being a union president

  1. You forgot one: opposing Miron.

    The story failed to mention:

    1. Did he use a WOOD or an IRON?

    2. How many STROKES?

    3. What is PAR?

    4. Were there PENALTY SHOTS called?

    5. Was he acting in self defense?
    A) Rabid?
    B) Stinky stray?
    C) Protecting anyone?
    D) Did he think it was a masked robber?

    6. Was it mistaken identity?

I am against cruelty to animals. However how many people who
are against cruelty to animals will not act against a RAT, MOUSE,
or SQUIRREL in their home, or if an animal is RABID?

A better (golf) course of action would have been to call the police
and let them use the skunk for target practice. I am Joking.
The police have animal control officers.

However, what if the skunk threatened him or bit one of the members
    or neighboring children of adults?
Then he would be arrested on some other stupid reason and sued.

Jeze, cute graphics. Reminds me of someone ….. Hmmmm?
    Mostly the dumb facial expression.

    1. Since the skunk was still there I’m thinking 9 iron or pitching wedge. Unless he used a driver and topped it.

    2. One good one.

    3. At Far Mill I think it’s 72.

    4. He may have taken a Mulligan. (Where you there?)

    5. B

    6. No. Miron was signing the Option for LBW at the time.

Why this poor (working) 19 year old should have an arrest on his record is beyond me. Now every job application he ever fills out will have that mark on it. For a lousy skunk and a call to the Stratford PD.

As my name suggests, I would have given the skunk a second chance.

The Country Club types don’t seem comfortable with me. However the
former Golf Pro (20 + years) at ST. MAARTENS MULLET BEACH BAY did
marry my cousin, whose last name is alsom Mulligan.

“The Country Club types don’t seem comfortable with me.”

Next time try a collared shirt and NO sweatpants. You know, like the sign says?

I love people who are into style over substance. 🙂

Lawyers and politicians tend to dress very well, don’t they? 😉

Who would you trust more and believe represents your best

    Ed Hargus (deceased)
    George Mulligan
Marcia Stewart (cap & uncollared shirts)
Diane Buda (ok dresser – nothing fancy/pretentious)

    Rich Burturla
    Jim Miron
    Robert Berchem

Firemen and Public Works tend to have callouses on the hands
and not their hearts like many Pin Striped sartorial models.

Most of the audience at Town Council tend to dress casually,
    (including you jeze) than pretentiously.

Yet Jeze – you are right about Country Clubs and dress rules.
I went to 1 Diner function at Mill River CC. The dinner food was
beautifully presented, and taste like dooo-dooo, with tiny, tiny
portions. I prefer a MAN’S MEAL, with GOOD FLAVOR and TASTE.

“with tiny, tiny portions. I prefer a MAN’S MEAL”

This is soooo tempting…but I refuse opportunities this easy.

    Jeze being sensitive?
    More likely nothing to type.
    Go for it?

  9. 9 jezebel282

I am just a sensitive sweetheart.

Since this is under pepe le pew –
    didn’t you mean sweet fart,
as in barnhart – barnfart – a stinked who sold his soul?
