Army’s Withdrawal Halted at Water!

27Mar09

Guess what? The deal to transfer the SAEP to Hollywood East has been delayed!

Link to Court Case

Bridgeport Air has utilities, mainly sewer and water supply, that is supplied by the US Army from the engine plant. The city of Bridgeport is responsible to provide them to Bridgeport air as a tenant. The army has notified them (the City) that they cannot use the water from the plant any longer (it has been a gift to the airport) and that the new owners are not responsible to supply them. The city said they cannot afford to supply the tenant due to construction costs, so the tenant sued the city and named the buyers and the US army in the action. So the army cannot transfer title because it is not clear with litigation on it, although they wont admit it, they cant because no one will give title insurance on it, so they are in a legal limbo.

Bridgeport Airport Services wants the court to force the new owners to continue the arrangement, or force the city to replace all the lines. The city wants then to try and grab property of the engine plant for utilities.

At least The City of Bridgeport is consistent. When they grab land from Stratford they never want to pay for it.

This is unique for the Nateras though. They are finally being sued for something they didn’t do.

March Madness doesn’t always apply to NCAA basketball.

It could also apply to Stratford…..every month of the year.

If more people had been wise enough (like myself) to vote for George Mulligan for mayor then none of this would be happening… let this be a warning to all of the lemmings out there!!!!!

Did you promise Sudds a no show cushy Town job?

I don’t know if it’s Miron’s influence, reading George’s posts or if it’s the drinking water in Stratford. I never used to think this way, but here is my thought.

Since no Title Company in their right mind would issue Title Insurance on a property in litigation and therefore the GSA/Army cannot transfer title, the Natera’s will probably claim breach of contract and get their million bucks back.

  6. 6 weluvmom

Hector Natera will never claim breach and let go of this property. The only way Hector disappears from this deal is through default. Getting the deposit back doesn’t solve any of his legal and alleged criminal problems since all of the monies would go towards paying Willinger and the other attorneys working this deal. Contrary to several posts, the deposit money is third party investor risk capital. Hector Natera doesn’t have any personal money in the deal so he has nothing to lose and rest assured everyone believes he is still calling the shots despite what Willinger says.

The current lawsuit could be solved quickly through an indemnification by the Army but Hollywood doesn’t want to go that route which means that they don’t have the money (or the right deal) to close.

Look for Bridgeport to make a claim on the property because of safety issues involving the airport and for the beneficial use for the public. Once that happens, Stratford will have to step up to the plate as well or lose a bit of bargaining power regarding airport expansion.

If the current litigitation and potential litigation gets resolved in the next month it will only be due to closed door negotiations by Miron, Finch and the Army and they should get their due recognition for moving the deal forward towards either a closing or a default.

If this litigation doesn’t get resolved in the next month, then this situation will drag on past the next election and become another albatross for Stratford and whoever is Mayor.

  7. 7 jezebel282

    Weluv,

Somehow none of that makes me feel any better.

Especially the part about Miron and Finch making a “deal”. My guess is that we will have to check purchasing and see if any large quantities of KY Jelly have been ordered.

I guess specious arguments are moot?:
Look for Bridgeport to make a claim on the property because of safety
issues involving the airport and for the beneficial use for the public.

    Real issue?:
Once that happens, Stratford will have to step up to the plate as well
or lose a bit of bargaining power regarding airport expansion.

Purchase of the Airport has been on Town Council Agenda for 2 years,
with at least 2 or 3 Executvie Sessions.
As mentioned, I praised Anthony Avallone and his presentation to the
Zoning on 630 Condos. I do not agree with it, but he was very prep.
He and the Army Judge Advocate to Feehan / TC made among the best
presentations to the Town in Council Chambers.
    – Avallone rents space from Berchem and has Berchem e-mail address.
    – Norms was hovering like a humming bird, for the Feehan TC by Barry
something, the ARMY JUDGE ADVOCATE. The lady doing the COURT
STENOGRAPHY told me she was hired by WILLINGER & BUCCI.
    – Willinger is involved in Natera & unsure if Hock-man or Hochman?
    – Bucci was former Mayor who hired JON (I like JON.. but his campaign
manager Proto, represents Harborside, reputed … no picture drawing)
(I actually think the MOB has more integrity than FBI/JUSTICE/COURTS,
    if the Burturlas/Kelly – LIEberman/BlueMenthol – O’Connor/Dooley/Twardy
    /Droney//\\Gonzalez/Meese/Reno/Nixon’s – Comers/Q – are representative)

Of course, if they “happened” to have some INSIDE INFORMATION from
    the TOWN ATTORNEY’S OFFICE.
mIRONY? Suppose U R BRUTAL – Burturla was briefing Avallone and poor
KEVIN KELLY was at TOWN HALL voicing opposition to 630 CONDOS…
But then, it all may have been TRIAL BALLOONS

Seems Avallone was at Conference for Mayors
    (Jimbo was at same conference)
Seems Conference for Mayors ADVOCATES CONDOS for highest/best use
of property. Off course every Condo needs 2 Lawyers.
Let’s see, if Berchem was able to steer EXCLUSIVE SALES RIGHTS to one
of his many “Associated Law Firms” for perhaps MORE Boards of Ed…..
and if there were 1,000 high rise million dollar condos at AVCO.

Go ahead and scoff – PYE can not stop what they do in AVCO – not part
of whatever agreement they have with COURTS / FEDS.

What is the TITLE SEARCH (Harkins) FEES for 1,000 CONDOS?
What is the WATER INSURANCE (Gavin) PREMIUM for 1,000 CONDOS of $ 1 m?
What is the LAWYER’S CLOSING FEE for $ 1 m CONDO?
    – IF 100 lawyers bought the 1st 200 Condos as an Investment, where they
are traditionally the lowest price until BUILT and FILLED, leading to resale
with nice BUMP in resale value….

    – WOULD THAT BE WORTH giving away $ 134,000 POLICE PENSION and then
demoting the UNION PRESIDENT who DOCUMENTED it and FILED GRIEVANCE
and or going after a certain GADFLY, who keeps raising embarassing issues
about HOW BOTH PARTIES are working together – like BURNS VOTE for
    Dick Miron retirement Fund $$?

They ONLY needed 6 votes to pass:
    T. Moore – happened to have operation, just before vote.
Kubic “lawyer” – happened to recuse
Julian “construction” – happened to recuse
Gavin – voted against = matter of principal, but does not make any
difference, because the votes were there, WEREN’T THEY?
    > Gavin is FAR too smart and FAR too QUIET about BIG ISSUES!
    > Calzone is quiet on Town Charter changes, which Gavin supported, and on
    other ISSUES.
    > Fredette backed Town Charter changes and is quiet on Public issues.
    > JON is nice guy, but I feel he is being used as a FRONT. I think he knows
it and I think he hates it and would honestly love change….However…
    > DOM turned his back on Town Charter changes, which Gavin supported.
DOM publicly praised NORM in RTC. DOM went silent over past.
Some of DOM’s ISSUES, were direct plagerism of my positions.

FEEHAN used to do the same thing, that it appears Gavin did.
By the time it got around to his District / his Vote, the matter was
decided. “Jim could vote principal – his conscience.”
Many times, VOTES are lined up in advance, and the HEAD count is
known, so people can “appear” to vote certain ways….

If true about DICK MIRON $ 85 k (seems too unbelieveable?) then what
does that say about HENRICK’S Public Posturing as a Miron critic.
Emma / Alvin / Amy – can expect politics, despite verbal postures.

    > John Dempsey does not say much, but his District always seemed to
be under DOMINATION of Voccola / Dem, as Ray Voccola once Publicly
at Town Council Meeting, when it was his turn, referred to Councilor
KRONENEBERG as one DAMN FINE COUNCILPERSON – and RAY never spoke!

    > I like Dempsey and JR. But JR works in Sikorsky.
It seems Norm and Sikorsky work together.
Sikorsky as a LARGEST TAX PAYER and with needs to CONTROL POLICE
due to AIR FORCE ONE and WAR HELICOPTER needs, would need a
BOOT LICKING LAP DOG to do anything they wanted to get done.
Conversely, the Sikorsky ARMY contacts could steer the AVCO project
and keep creating delays, for STRATEGIC and TACTICAL REASONS.
    > BURTURLA / BERCHEM “could” keep Billing
    > NORM “could” get the FINANCE PLANNING – TAX WORK of PENSIONS
and both he and Burturla “could” get finders fee for
    – PENSIONS
    – INSURANCE
    – ANNUITIES
    – CONSTRUCTION
    – BONDING
    – REAL ESTATE inside information (town hall = records repository)
    – LABOR
    – BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT and STEERING to other TOWNS (fee)
I hear Jim and his campain manager Kevin Williams retired from politics.
No reflection on either of them as people and good family men, YET,
it is too bad either one of them got involved in politics, in my opinion!
My term for what they politically did to Stratford is “Linda Lovelaced.”

Same with the B UTTER NUTS and ADMINISTRATION.

LOOKS LIKE BRIDGEPORT (and me) WILL FINALLY GET THEIR WISHES GRANTED…

A plane made a crash landing at Sikorsky Airport on Friday morning.

Airport officials said a mid-sized plane had an issue with landing and crashed into the “blast fence” on runway six.

The said the crash had occurred within the 8 a.m. hour.

Officials said seven people were on board the plane and that they were all uninjured.

The airport was shut down at 9 a.m. because of the incident. Officials said no planes were taking off or landing.

Though the airport is in Stratford, officials said, it falls under Bridgeport’s jurisdiction. Crews from both towns were called to the scene.

    The incident remains under investigation.

  10. 10 jezebel282

    Sudds,

You can make that runway 6 miles long and planes will still miss it in dense fog.

  11. 11 1george1

For how many years, never an incident with the fence?

Every prior accident was prior error?

    What is that S M E L L ??

It smells like it should come from the river, sound, or ocean.

  12. I’m just really, really glad my mother stopped at the store after dropping my daughter off at school…. she would’ve been driving right by there at the time it happened!

  13. 13 jezebel282

    PCS,

I had actually driven by at about 07:45. You couldn’t see anything! Dense fog and mist. On the video on Ch 8 you can barely see the nose of the plane poking through the fence.

The pilot must have had her hand out of the door feeling for the runway.

  14. Drove by when I went to pick Sage up…. glad no one was hurt! Say good-bye to Main Street as it currently exists. This was just what Bridgeport needed!

  15. 15 jezebel282

“Say good-bye to Main Street as it currently exists.”

    Over Sudds’ dead body!

  16. 16 sudds

    HUH??? 😯

  17. 17 jezebel282

    Sudds,

It should be somebody’s dead body. I voted for yours.

  18. 18 1george1

All it would take for radar is a couple of cable or phone lines
and the tabletop radar set up.

    Fault?

    Bridgeport.

    Pilot overshot runway. Pilot error.

If the runway was 10 miles long, what prevents a pilot
    from waaaaay overshooting ……

Did I read Sudds write something about “woman driver?”

  19. 19 sudds

“It should be somebody’s dead body. I voted for yours.”

    Umm… Thanks?!?!?

“Did I read Sudds write something about “woman driver?””

Hells NO… those words are a death sentence in my house!!!
