BRIDGEPORT — The case against Richard Miron, the 72-year-old father of Stratford’s mayor accused of defrauding dozens of grieving people who purchased headstones from him that he did not deliver, was continued Monday.

Dressed in a tan windbreaker, Miron, Stratford’s former Democratic registrar of voters, stood calmly before Superior Court Judge Bruce Hudock.

At the request of Assistant State’s Attorney Michael DiJoseph, the judge agreed to continue the case to April 21 and to transfer it to the Main Street courthouse.

Miron, the owner of Lakeview Monument Co., is charged with first-degree larceny. He is accused of stealing about $85,000 from more than 50 people who contracted with him to buy headstones. Police said he didn’t supply the headstones and refused to give back the money.

Both Miron and his lawyer, John R. Gulash, declined comment as they left the Golden Hill Street courthouse Monday.

This photo has to be a low even for a guy like Gulash. He is no stranger to standing next to scum bags in court, but this one must be a really up there on the scumbag meter.

    Jeze –
    very strong picture, for details.

Like grieving people who were denied headstones,
I have grievances and have grieved.

    Careful Jeze,
If the Town Councils and managers and department heads had honest
legal advise about larceny and their actions ….. shhhhhh!

  5. 5 jezebel282

    George,

Rell would have to increase staffing in the State’s Attorney’s office by 400%. And that would only be for Stratford.

  6. 6 1george1

    Jeze,
I would like to see EVERY GOVERNMENT LAWYER in JAIL as well as
    EVERY POLITICALLY APPOINTED SUPERGRADER.

    Throw Bush / Cheney / Limbaugh / Buchanon / Will / O’Reilly /
Hannity / ETC – in JAIL without Miranda, Lawyers, or due process.
See how quickly they become LIBERALS?

BRIDGEPORT — Richard Miron, the 72-year-old father of Stratford’s mayor, pleaded not guilty Tuesday to defrauding dozens of grieving people who purchased headstones from him.

Miron, Stratford’s former Democratic registrar of voters, pleaded not guilty to one count of first-degree larceny before Superior Court Judge George Thim. He chose a jury trial.

Thim continued the case to May 19.

“Thank you, your honor,” Miron added. He declined comment as he left the Main Street courtroom.

The owner of Lakeview Monument Co., Miron is accused of stealing about $85,000 from more than 50 people who contracted with him to buy headstones. Police said he didn’t supply the headstones and refused to give back the money.

    Odds on Continuance?

    Odds on Plea Deal?

Odds this will ever go to verdict?

Odds the judge, jury pool, admitted evidence, and testifiers will be rigged?

Odds there will be a guilty verdict?

Odds there will EVER be JAIL TIME served?

Anyone remember how much Jail time Fabrizi and the Russian brothel
customers got, as well as all of Fabrizi’s COKE connections?

YO PCS – Good News / Bad News

At last a commuter parking plan that will get the attention of the
    MIRON / BURTURLA MACHINE –

    YAHOO front page:

BOSTON – A real estate agent says a resident of Boston’s upscale Back Bay section plunked down $300,000 to own what is believed to be the priciest parking space in the city’s history.

  11. 11 1george1

    As I have repeatedly writen.

If the town Democrats and Republicans had worked as hard to make
Stratford successful economically, as they have subverting it ……

They could steal more ….. 🙂
    😦 😦

    Update:

    Richard Miron’s next appearance:

    7/7/2009 9:30 AM

Times on the Docket: 7 (count ’em, 7)

    53a-122 LARCENY 1ST DEG B Felony 1

  13. 13 1george1

I suspect the final court appearance:

1 – Will be after the election

2 – Will be after the christian settlement under seal

3 – Will have full restitution made, with suspended sentence or probation

What kinda odds am I getting?

    Sudds?
    Nnan?
    PCS?
    Kane?
    Cyclops?
    Star?
    Phyllis?
    Jeze?
    FOS?
    OnTarget?

And the LOCAL POLICE / STATE POLICE and ALUMNI all appear
to have sold their souls for “silence of the BLUE WALL,” which
when it was done by Mafia, was called “Omerta”

  14. 14 nnanerak

No question it will be after the election.
It will take much longer to settle the CM lawsuit than DM will probably live.
Resitiution? Ha!!!!! Depends on if there is a granite deal or not, even then my guess would be he’d blow through the cash before restitution could be made.
I believe that you are partially incorrect with “Omerta”. If push came to shove I believe the locals with the exception of a couple(ie:most recent retiree) would tell the truth if someone asked and “really listened” to what they had to say. That has not happened to date and the tapes to date back that up.

  15. 15 1george1

    Nnan

If push came to shove …..

I am 100 % sure MOST of the BLUE WALL ‘want” to do the right thing.
Most start out with the right spirit.
Then they like many politicians get co-opted by the system.

Peer pressure had a lot to do with “meat eaters” & “grass eaters” in the
    Knapp Commission.

Washington Post writer Robert Kaiser wrote “So Damn much Money.”
He describes the origin of “earmarks.”
He articulates it is well known in D.C. there is no difference between
a BRIBE and a DONATION / LOBBYING than semantics.

Look around are try, just try to differenciate the difference between
what is legal and illegal? Like

    Lotto = Numbers
Jai alai / OTB / Dog / Race = Book making
    Insurance = Protection
Strip club – massage = Prostitution
Indian Casino bag men / front = Gambling
Treasury ATF & E – Prohibition traffic / Death Product traffic
Treasury DEA – Controlled substances = Drug pushing

Yo sudds – is this what set you off?

And the LOCAL POLICE / STATE POLICE and ALUMNI all appear
to have sold their souls for “silence of the BLUE WALL,” which
when it was done by Mafia, was called “Omerta”

    CIA MOTTO:
    “Ye shall know the truth,
the truth will set you free.”

    Missing from that KJV Quote
“Follow in the way of Jesu Christu and
    Ye shall know the truth,
the truth will set you free.”

Regardless of whether one believes christ existed,
    or was just a man,
    or was divine.
As the story goes, he was at least a Jew practicing his religion.

Some of my favorite beliefs were originated by certain people
and regardless of their back ground it is the “mensch” or each
culture who are the heart, soul, and mind beyond skull & bones!

My secret weapon is self images of people who believe in g-d.
believe in the USA, believe in right and wrong, believe in the
need for unbias rule of law and enlightened self interest.

Joshua blew down the walls of Jericho.
Jesu, and the foundations of wisdom from solomon and babylon
shall blow down the BLUE WALL and OMERTA.

    I pray or some hope ….) 😉

In the IRAN CONTRA hearings George Schultz said two very true things:

1 – People get captured by the bureacracy they lead.

2 – Trust is the coin of the realm

    Real m

    m = 1000
    g = 1000

    m = g

as in seen in the front of masonic halls / lodges

    g m are my initials

  17. 17 sudds

“Yo sudds – is this what set you off?”

George… one of the things that sets me off is people who feel like they are qualified to represent me, but the best they can do is talk about how the entire free world is out to get them!

Tell me what you ARE going to do for me, and if I like it I’ll give you my vote! To quote Janet Jackson… WHAT HAVE YOU DONE FOR ME LATELY???

    Sudds,

    I just saw your post.
Unlike other candidates, I do not care if I win.
In fact, I wish YOU and other people RAN and WON political office,
to actually do things for the TOWN tather than their own Wallet.

OOoooops – I forget you keep asking to no show jobs.

Reminds me – What are odds the Dick Miron case is delayed until
    1 – He dies?
2 – The election is over and they bury it, while burying Stratford?

Interesting Jimbo came out very, very strongly against the CONTRACT
    for SHAKESPEARE negotiated by BURTURLA…..

With Mirons / one can never tell the end game…

What is possiblity that Burturla’s pals are blackmailing Jimbo?
Burturla had Maureen Kendrick from Berchem at Jimbo’s office.
I innocently raised the issue about who she really worked for,
on the blog? I know Jim and others read the blog.
Next thing I knew, the former Berchem secretary was bannished.

I met weekly with JIM in his first 6 months.
Like he said, he is not his father.
But I wanted to take his measure, while trying to help the town.
JIM also said the PARTY made him TAKE BURTURLA.

I have gotten under Richard’s skin, and John ushered him away
from me, whenever he has been near.

I make sure not to approach them.

I actually pity both John and Jim, for different reasons….

Yes, the work for the wrong people and decide for their benefit.
However, was it their making, originally?

Don’t waste your pity George, these guys were taught right from wrong-and each one of them has had an opportunity to say “no”, but they either choose not to or are too spinless to stand up to the 2 Dicks. Either way they carry their own shovel and each day keep digging themselves a hole that is so deep they just might find themselves in a Chinese prision.
BMD appears to have carte blanche here in Stratford and they will do what they need to do to rake in as much cash in as short and as long a time possible. We see and live with that every single day.
Wouldn’t shock me in the least to find out that Jimbo’s dirt is being held over his head by people-it would explain the unexplainable, like the Justin hiring, or the incessant vindictiveness against the PD because early on he was made to look like a fool claiming HE was the head of the Dept., which is not legal. Then of course we had the gun incident and the O’Neal incident. Jim’s bag of dirt is sooooo full it is about to explode (just think of all the stuff he did before he was mayor, YIKES, just ask his ex)and the taxpayers are the ones that are going to poke a hole in the bag and let it fly. The people in this town are sick of this garbage and aren’t going to take it anymore. Don’t you wonder why Jimbo hasn’t headlined his running for re-election? Could it be even his own party doesn’t want him??

  21. 21 1george1

    Phineast –

I strongly suspect you have validity in your positions related to Jim.
    I do not know.
    Pity is a relative term.
Your post suggest my persective “may” have some merit.
What I did not post, is my strong feelings JIM is playing along….

I strongly suspect the featured Republicans are worse. Much worse.
NOT those as fronts, including the phony Independent.
But those behind the scenes who all work together with B UTTER NUTS
and BERCHEM which I believe is a SHELL / FRONT, as are other firms.

You seem to know both parties and internal workings of town.
I do not care who you are.
I would be interested in your candid assessments of each.

Careful that your assessments might betray your prejudice.

Unlike others, I welcomed being SAVAGED on the ISSUES.

Being called CRAZY drives me to CRAZY COUNTERACTTACK 🙂 8) 😉

I am imperfect, but I try 100 % to avoid any PERSONAL / PERSONALITY
    ATTACK.

I held back certain changes on my Website, until completing 4:17 am
July 9 – as I expected a letter to the Editor in the Stratford Star.
Regardless of publishing or not… that Website has cultural mimetics
and week adjustments / commentaries may make things interesting?

I guess the big payout Jim Miron took when he was rejected by town voters isn’t enough to keep daddy out of jail.

  23. 23 jezebel282

    Mike,

Restitution and jail would be better.

It’s still a crime when you steal money.

  24. 24 1george1

What happened to Restitution, Damages AND Jail?

Just curious…. why not a POLL?

  25. 25 jezebel282

    Geogre,

There are no “damages” in criminal trials. Only jail, fines and restitution.

Damages are awarded in civil trials, which should be a slam dunk for Blumenthal after this conviction.

The only poll I can think of is Tar & Feathers, Lashing, Stockade in Paradise Green, Keel Hauling and the Rack.

Ge – ogre – I have a new name du blog.
    I lub it !! 🙂 8)

You have called me so many things. Now you ask?

  29. 29 jezebel282

    Mike,

“How about restitution, jail, and a severe beating? ”

No. Then you would have a crowd control problem with everyone lining up to volunteer.

You mean that Jim’s unemployment equals Dick’s jail sentence???? Hard to imagine. In addition to the $45,000 severance, he had funds in his retirement (ICMA) and/or other contributions made by the town to his annuity. I would say, he probably does not want to help him. Strange, Dick gave to Jim’s campaign from the Monument checkbook, which was stolen money. Jim accepted it. And, now he was going to give to Dick, from the taxpayer’s money (also stolen funds)?

I guess the ex-wife said no. I guess the best friend Richard Buturla said no. Wow, I guess his money sources have dried up. What about Barbara? Speaking of her, is she still employed at the tax office? Now, there’s a source of funding.
