All I could post in 15 minutes off the top of my head.

I told Terry Backer, that I would TROUNCE JIMMY in DEBATE!

HARKINS is prettier than I am – but he got BUG EYED when I
nailed his issues at Baldwin – and I did a POOR JOB then.

DOM is wooden. He is a hard worker and knows people,
but I know the intricacies and WHY / HOW things work.

I believe the 3 above work together.

Mike Singh has by far the BEST PERSONALITY and sense of
HUMOR. He knows political science and history. However
he gets caught in the traps, they set.
    MINE WILL BE A DOOZEY!

I believe JON want to do the right things and has probably
the most ability outside of Gavin and Burturla.
However with Donna working at Miron’s pleasure
and with PROTO working with AVALLONE, who
    RENTS at BERCHEM ……………..

GAVIN & BURTULA are very strong and town knowledgeable
but they are very, very, very vulnerable.

If DeLauro, Dodd, Liberman, Blumenthal, or Rell were dumb
enough to come into my debate range ….
I would rather chew up Cheney, Bush, Gates, or Schultz …
but they are all the same casa nostra ….

Oh … I make no pretense at being as intelligent or informed
as they are. However, what I do know … I KNOW!

How many readers could not name 10 issues?

  9. 9 mikereynolds

    Jez,

How many people have voted so far?

  10. 10 1george1

    Hmmm.
I went from 3 % with probably myself as the only vote,
to 4.3 % with probably 1 added vote.

I want to thank that person who I am guessing I saw at
a restaurant while I was collecting petition signatures.

I got 239 accepted registered signatures for Mayor.
I needed 156 for Mayor position.

I got 21 accepted registered signatures for Town Council District # 3.
    I needed 8 for Town Council District # 3.

4.3 % with 2 voters, suggests there are about 90 voters.

I WOULD LIKE TO STIPULATE THAT ONLY PEOPLE WHO ACTUALLY
HAVE A BLOG NAME and HAVE BLOGGED OPINIONS at LEAST ONCE
a MONTH CAN BE COUNTED as REGISTERED VOTERS.

REPUBLICANS INTEGRITY in this TOWN is even worse the MIRONS,
with NORM chosen as STATE REP and LOUIE (Dickies bowling partner)
as REGISTER being POSTER BOYS for INFAMY.

LOUIE, stated RACIAL sensitivity training is a waste of time.
LOUIE once told me Republicans did not run Candidates in Town
Council District # 2, to keep the (BLACK) vote to a minimum, since
it would hurt overall vote for Councilman at Large (now Mayor)

In the Stratford Bard article about the TIRE around MY NECK, MIKE
HENRICK was QUOTED as CREDITING NORM ALDRICH for the PENSIONS.

I wonder WHY someone with a DEATH GRIP on AVCO Team Stratford
would want to give PENSIONS OVER BASE PAY to POLICE CAPTAINS,
POLICE LIEUTENANTS, and POLICE CHIEFS, including a no show or
    barely show Consulting Job?
    Could it be bribery?

With supposedly 43 % of people voting for HARKINS ….

Do any of you take into consideration that if it were not for NORM &
    BURTURLA & FIENDS ….. I mean FRIENDS

1 – AVCO would have been developed
    A. AVCO could expand the TAX BASE by 15 % – by itself
    B. You people have bigger houses. Wouldn’t you like 15 % lower Taxes

    2 – PENSIONS obligations would be 33 – 50 % LOWER, saving $ 6 – $8.5
    million annually.
    A. This is 1.3 to 1.9 Mils annually on 30 Mils or 5 % Property Taxes.
    B. Add 5 % less Taxes of reduced cost to 15 % less taxes via increased
    revenue = 20 % lower taxes.

3 – HEALTH BENEFITS should cost about $ 14,000,000 instead of
    $ 24,000,000 – saving about $ 10 million annually
    A. This about 2.2 Mils OR about 7 % of the Mil rate
    B. This becomes 27 % lower Taxes

4 – If HARKINS and BURTURLA were able to eliminate ECS CAPS – we
would have gotten $ 60,000,000 more and could reduce $ 160,000,000
    Town Debt to $ 100,000,000
4.1 – If HARKINS and BURTURLA were able to get the ESTIMATED
over $ 10,000,000 ANNUAL UNFUNDED MANDATES since 1996 – We
    could totally eliminate Town Debt
    A. Town Debt averages 3 Mils per year or about 10 % of Taxes.
    B This becomes 37 % lower Taxes.

    5. I believe there is about:
    A. 1 Mil or more waste within Spending.
    B. 1 Mil or more revenue with decent Economic Development
    C. 1 Mil or more revenue with Grants (Miron got $ 6 million = 1.3 Mils)
    D. 2 Mils or more in BETTER BUYING
    E. 1 Mil or more in more Transparency / better Bidding-change orders.
These potential 6 Mils out of 30 Mil Tax Rate is a further 20 % reduction
of taxes to 57 % lower Taxes, to turn a 30.37 Mil Rate to about 13 Mils.

13 Mils would make Stratford to be the MOST ATTRACTIVE GAME in CT.
Obviously ALL of these would NEVER be done – but some could – at least
    partly be done?

Meanwhile NORM / HARKINS want to INVADE YOUR HOME and RAISE YOUR
PERSONAL PROPERTY TAXES, which HARKINS credits NORM for REMINDING
    HIM, during the Q & A.
1 – I don’t want anyone in my home – from the government
2 – I do NOT want to pay MORE property Taxes.
3 – HARKINS personal property assessments will more affect affluent
people with BOATS, MANY NEWER CARS, EXPENSIVE FURNISHINGS –
    He wants to TAX YOU!

Johnny’s Rest has a HARKINS sign + 2 FAHAN signs.
Anyone wonder why Schirillo made FAHAN eat carp when nominated?
How long before FAHAN formally becomes one of NORM’S boys?

If elected MAYOR, the POLICE CARS will see additional writing

    “To protect and serve ….”

    will become

“To protect and serve with Liberty and Justice for ALL.”

INSTEAD of JUST politically connected SCUMBAG THIEVES and LIARS
who are all EGO,,,,, and NO SELF RESPECT.

Survey takers … come from behind YOUR COWARDICE
and take a COWARDLY blog name
    and INSULT ME BACK
    take a position….
state why you feel one way or the other.
I am INSULTING ALL OF YOU …. INTENTIONALLY

At least MIKE R posts his positions and exposes himself for debate,
    which I respect.
    Same with SUDDS
    or Nnan or FOS.
    or JEZE
    or STAR
    or CYCLOPS / KANE

Gavin, JON, PCS, Monro, myself and maybe others use our names.
I AM THE ONLY NAME USER – WHO CHALLENGES – INSULTS EVERYONE
on ISSUES – ISSUES – ISSUES – where I believe there are abuses.

The interesting thing about writing a position on ISSUES on a blog….

Most people have to STOP and THINK….

When they commit an opinion to writing ….
It forces them to reconcile what they wrote, to what they believe….

Sometimes by bringing issue out into the open, the people in charge
realize they really are no in favor of an existing position, because it
was NOT in anyone’s best interest!

So if you are one of the 90 supposed voters or 400 supposed viewers,
show some chatzputz (spelling?) and post a position on ANYTHING YOU
    BELIEVE IN …. ANYTHING

    Save the Whales
    Help puppies and kittens
Capital punishment (for certain politicians – including myself) 😉
    Senior relief
    Veterans help
    Improve Education
    Lower Taxes
Grandfathered Rights – initiative / petition / referendum
    More money for POLICE CAPTAINS
    BRIBE TOWN ATTORNEYS
    ETHICS COMMISSION HYPOCRACY?

If you are gonna VOTE in a survey ….
Are you CONTENT to LET JEZE – SUDDS – MIKE – Nnan – KANE – CYCLOPS
    speak for you?

    Are you SHEEP?

    Are you SPINELESS?

    Are you HONEST?

This is not pandering, although I know this site is viewed by police
and Town council / Town committee people – I do believe that
Captain McNiel is either innocent of not releasing reports OR
if he did would have done so for ETHICAL REASONS consistent
with CODE of ETHICS of the POLICE & Government duty.

The Military Uniform Code of Military Justice MANDATES that people
disobey ORDERS they believe to be ILLEGAL – IMMORAL – UNETHICAL
(analygous to what German military did not do related to innocents)
However, if you disobey – you better be ready to pay the price…

  11. 11 1george1

do the dirty work that far too many people don’t do….

    Land of the FREE

Less and less it is applying to Stratford politicians.

    …balance relocated by Jezebel….

  12. 12 jezebel282

    Mike,

    “Jez,

How many people have voted so far?”

Sorry, I almost lost your question amid George’s….whatever.

There were a bit over 50 responses. Which is not bad considered readership goes way down on Saturday & Sunday.

    Some interesting notes.

Harkins is dominating the votes. I am a bit surprised that Costello has only managed zero. (Maybe his supporters don’t have computers?)

A full time Town Attorney is overwhelmingly favored by 4:1.

It seems all that money for lawn signs are a waste.

The RTC & DTC have done lousy jobs identifying themselves as actual Republican or Democrats. Nearly 8 out of 10 voters can’t tell the difference and don’t care.

Most voters would like to see each candidate hold a separate question and answer session rather than listen to them sling it at each other. However, there is a reason there is still WWF events on pay per view; failing Q&A session, voters would like a debate.

  13. 13 1george1

    I get a kick out of the Q & A session preference.
Would all you voters go as Doonesbury GHW Bush feather? (invisible)

No surprize that Harkins is way ahead among your blog viewer of about
50 voters. I strongly suspect most people are the same circle of friends
and competing ideas are chased away.

  14. 14 jezebel282

    George,

If anyone were to be chased away…well…let’s just say that you are still here.

Stratford, Connecticut: Jonathan Best, Republican submitted 341 signatures on Wednesday August 12, 2009 to the Registrars of Voters office. This submission places Mr. Best in contention for the Republican nomination for Mayor. 284 signatures were required to successfully conduct a Republican primary on September 15th. The signatures are presently being evaluated by the Republican registrar. “This allows Republican voters a choice of candidates and sets the stage for discussion of issues affecting the Town of Stratford” said Jonathan Best. “I look forward to the opportunity to speak with the community and present my ideas for moving us past issues that have languished for the last 15 years. The Shakespeare theater, education, economic development and most importantly restoring pride in being a Stratford Resident, these are issues that require resolution and not continuing discussion. Forging forward with the intent of providing good, transparent, accountable government are among my goals. The same political players need to step aside to allow for elimination of politics as usual in Stratford. Change takes courage and we need the Republicans to be courageous and vote for the greater good for Stratford. This Republican primary is about what is BEST for Stratford.”

For Additional information on Jonathan Best or the campaign:

    http://www.BESTforStratford.com

  17. 17 jezebel282

    Mr. Best,

“The signatures are presently being evaluated by the Republican registrar.”

Umm…isn’t Lou DeCilio the Republican Registrar AND the Harkins campaign chairman?

That’s kinda like putting Richard Miron in charge of reviewing cash receipts isn’t it?

(No offense, Lou. But it looks lousy.)

  18. 18 jonbest

    It is the system.

  19. 19 jezebel282

Maybe the next mayor can change that system and instead of two $35,000 (plus benefits) purely political positions have the Town Clerk register voters?

  20. 20 jonbest

I believe the law requires a registrar for each party.

  21. 21 jezebel282

    What a waste…..

  22. 22 sudds

Doeshe law require a minimum salary???

    I’m thinking $10k each… with no bene’s!!!

  23. 23 jezebel282

    Sudds,

I was thinking they should be at least on par with what Councilmen make.

    Zero

  24. 24 jonbest

It is official. I just recieved a call from the Registrar that we are in the Republican primary race for Mayor.

  25. 25 sudds

    We???

Good lord… we already have one candidate (George) who is insane… please tell me that you don’t also have multiple personalities!?!?!?

  26. 26 jonbest

No I just have a group of people who worked very hard to help me and government is always we. No one person is the government. We the people. So we..no multiples here. Just a faith that people will work for the most transparent, accountable and effective government. I am very grateful to thos who helped and could not have been successful alone.

  27. 27 sudds

Speaking of elections… who is THIS sexy hunk of a man???

    http://www.acorn-online.com/joomla15/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=34356:mulligan-makes-ballot-for-mayor-town-council&catid=186:local-news&Itemid=1786

Ok, ok… if I wrote “George is in on the ballot too” who would have really clicked it???

  28. 28 sudds

    Getting back on track…

I wonder if this primary will prove that:

    1) the Republican Town Committee is COMPLETELY out of touch with voters,

    or,

    2) who really cares… let’s just hope that Best wins so we can all enjoy the carnage of the fallout within the Repub Town Committee!!!!

  29. 29 jezebel282

I predict the real Mayoral race will be the Republican primary.

Either Best or Harkins. (If Harkins drops by Stratford someday).

The insanity vote will be split by Miron/Costello/Mulligan.

  30. 30 1george1

    George:
Stratford Town Charter needs a SANITY CLAUSe.

    Jeze:
The insanity vote will be split by Miron/Costello/Mulligan.

    Sudds:
Good lord… we already have one candidate (George)
who is insane… please tell me that you don’t also have
    multiple personalities!?!?!?

    =============== Insanity – Al Gore ism ==================

    Insanity is doing …..
what you have always done ….

    and expecting a different result…..

    =============

    George
What has been the result of Voting Republican or Democrat?

    Republicans
    Harkins
    Best
    Costello

    Democrats
    Miron
    Singh

    ===============================================

    Best targets Harkins
    Singh targets Miron

    Dom sits back
He is the guy who won the Republican Mayor Primary
So his sane plan is to be an “Independent?”

    ==============================================

I would be willing to truce with Best and Singh until
    the primaries are over.

Without them there would be NO work for REGISTRAR
OFFICE. However, IF, IF, IF, IF they are real ….
    They could do damage.

Dominic claims Best has been a tool of Miron
Miron claims Singh has been a tool of old Republicans /
    United Democrats.

I would be willing to truce with Best and Singh.
Miron is so disliked, Singh has a chance.
Best is very capable. Many Republicans do not like the turn
    of the party.

If Best and/or Singh won – it would show the people in the
parties are not puppets and do not like party bosses.

I would be willing to truce with Best and Singh, until primaries
    are over.

I know Best and Singh have “stuff” on the others?
    Will it get used publicly?

So far Harkins and Costello are getting a FREE RIDE?

    ===

INCIDENTLY – DERBY Registrars of Voters got a pay increase in 2007
    or 2006…. I think it went up to $ 10,000 a year.

Why do the UNAFFILIATED have to PAY for REPUBLICAN and
DEMOCRAT REGISTRARS SALARIES and HEALTH BENEFITS and
PAY for PRIMARIES of both PARTIES? 😦

Why not make the TOWN ATTORNEYS and TOWN KICK BACK
CONTRACTORS and EMPLOYEES / MANAGERS pay for PRIMARIES
and the COST of REGISTRAR of VOTER OFFICE? 😉

Is it SANE for people to pay other people to rig the system,
    against them?

Miron has about 5 times the votes that I have.
Harkins has exactly 3 times the votes that Miron has.

If I have 2 votes, then Miron has 9 or 10 and Harkins has 27 or 30

If I have 3 votes, then Miron has 13 to 15 and Harkins has 39 or 45
