Democratic Town Committee Continues to Burn

We doubt this is the kind of endorsement Matt Catalano (Fahan’s opponent in the 3rd District) was thinking of. In fact, we couldn’t think of a worse one.

But while we are watching the DTC quickly go up in flames under Miron’s direction, we eagerly wait for a response from “anyonebutharkins”. Besides, how often do you hear a “leader” say (in writing) that he wants to exterminate someone. Is that his “Final Solution” to everything?

Read Miron’s memo to his cronies:

A Rat Lives Among Us

Did we mention that the Town (that would be us again) pays for Mayor Moron’s Blackberry? Apparently, if you are a member of the Democratic Town Committee, you must stay beyond a 300 foot radius of any known Republican. Extermination is the only solution.

If reading the memo above wasn’t enough to make you sick to your stomach, there is also this:

Mayor is First to Park Illegally

Mayor is First to Park Illegally

After all…he’s the f*****g mayor, he can do whatever the f**k he wants.

If I’m Matt Catalano I’m not too thrilled that the Mayor is supporting me.

  2. 2 jezebel282

    I think you are right.

    People’s endorsements you don’t want:

    James R. Miron
    Mark Sanford
    Rod Blagojevich
    John Ensign
    Bernie Madoff
    Mahmoud Ahmadinejad

  3. 3 sudds

That e-mail from Miron was sent at 9:26 AM on a Friday… (I may be wrong, but) aren’t there laws against conducting blatant political activity while “on the clock”!?!?!

  4. 4 ronmoreau

In the Mayors e-mail he is telling everyone on his distribution list that he is supporting Matt Catalano,a Republican?

Isn’t the Mayor doing the same thing that he is accusing Mr. Fahan of doing? Supporting an opposition party candidate.

By the Mayors logic he himself is a traitor as well and should get NO support from his own party.

    I’ll second that motion.

  5. 5 ronmoreau

    Oh, I can’t…..I’m a Republican.

  6. 6 jezebel282

“aren’t there laws against conducting blatant political activity while “on the clock”!?!?!”

I guess he figures since it is OUR Blackberry he’s using, anything is OK.

  7. 7 jezebel282

“Isn’t the Mayor doing the same thing that he is accusing Mr. Fahan of doing? Supporting an opposition party candidate.”

It remains unclear what it is Fahan is supposed to have done to send Miron off the deep end. Although it never takes much.

When the governor of the state visits your town and you’re in politics, YOU GO. It doesn’t matter what party you are in. It’s not like a governor meets with councilmen and mayors every day. Some face time and an introduction may go a long way in getting a little State attention when we need it.

Honest to goodness, it’s not like Fahan was passing out Harkins stickers. Maybe Fahan’s bigger crime is consorting with the likes of Forrester. We know how well Forrester and Miron get along.

Although Forrester is beginning to look as thin as Fahan lately.

Nonetheless, Miron’s sickening display of vengeance is shocking to most people who are not familiar with Miron’s rants. If you’re a Town Employee you are shrugging your shoulders and keeping your head down. You just never know when he’ll go off again.

So I sent an email to our Mayor today. It was actually inspired by Sudds.

    Here’s the email I sent:

Do you really think its appropriate for an elected official to be dealing with town committee issues during a work day? Shouldn’t you be giving away town property or hiring an unqualified friend or family member or trying to get revenge on people you don’t like?

I included in my email his email to his DTC cronies about going after Fahan.

    Our Mayor’s response:

    Grow up Mike.
Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerry

It brought a chuckle to brighten the day.

  9. 9 sudds

“It was actually inspired by Sudds.”

Now, if only I could use my powers on PCS!

  10. 10 jezebel282

Really? “Grow up”? That’s what he said (again, using our Blackberry)?

After that written tantrum, he’s telling you to grow up?

I hope you gave him the link to this site.

  11. 11 mikereynolds

I’m wondering if that is the town’s Blackberry or his own. He may be using that Blackberry to retrieve his email so that he can’t be accused of using a town computer for election purposes. Just a thought.

I don’t think I need to give him a link to the site…I’m pretty sure he knows about it.

  12. 12 jezebel282

It will be an interesting debate tonight. I am absolutely certain Miron will be up there looking as innocent as an angel.

  13. 13 jezebel282

He only has one. He got his first one in December ’05 and has been burning up bandwidth ever since. He has to, he’s NEVER in his office.

  14. 14 mikereynolds

Probably….I just hope everyone sees through his charades and his last minute “work he’s doing for the town”.

  15. 15 pcsperling

Mike ~ I have no doubt that his true colors are coming out! I’m hoping I can pop over to SHS for this one.

  16. 16 mikereynolds

I’m hoping to be there too Pat. You’ll know its me because I’ll be wearing the Impeach Miron sign.

  17. 17 capece

Has Miron officially changed his first name to “Mayor”? I find it humorous that he uses his title (albeit temporary) in his Gmail address. Doesn’t he realize what a hassle it is to change your email address? And in the last paragraph of his memo he refers to himself in the 3rd person as “Mayor Jim Miron”. Maybe he thinks our town is that fictional Latin American country of San Marcos and he’s proclaimed himself “Ruler for Life”!! I’m guessing he’ll change it to in a month or so……

  18. 18 sudds

I just checked, and luckily for him is still available!!! 😛

  19. 19 jezebel282

  20. 20 pcsperling

I love it! That Sudds is soooo clever!

  21. 21 allanwscott

Too bad there wasn’t a cop out there. Jimmy would have got a ticket.

  22. 22 1george1

    It depends on the COP.

If it is a Miron Badge …..

I handed name of suspect on tire slash.
He was a (D). His mom was a (D). His grandpa was a (UD)
His name never made it into the police report.
    The paper work I gave the ,,, a … a … eh …. “investigating”
officer, never made it into the police report.

If Miron was confronted about the photo, I suspect he would
claim he was in the car, after stopping to help a little old lady
cross the street, and that under the legal definition of parking,
he was “standing” and moved on shortly before and after the
    picture was taken
Ergo, Jimmy might claim he was not parking, and this is another
manufactured attack, by people who lie and have reason to fear
all of the saintly things he and his political patrons and supporters
have done to LOWER TAXES and IMPROVE the TAX BASE and

  23. 23 jezebel282

Let’s keep those anonymous emails coming:

Oh, what a tangled web he weaves,
Because he has done nothing since taking office but to deceive.
Things started in the “royal” suite,
It’s so shameful and wasteful it makes us taxpayers want to weep,
Funny wiring, soundproofing, golden faucets and magic carpets,
Was just the beginning, with no one to stepping forward to stop it.

    It spread to the staff,
Where many honest and talented people were fired,
So only, the Mayor’s family, friends and political allies would be hired.
He promoted a guy under qualified and most likely corrupt,
Then paid him top pay and if that wasn’t enough,
He hired the guy’s medically unfit son,
And he forced Police Chief Imbro to leave, thankfully without using his gun.

Now he gave the Town a Police Chief, who is the Town Attorney’s brother,
He is the first Chief in our Town history, along with the Deputy
To receive votes of “no confidence”,
From their own men and a whole host of others.

He moved on to the Fire Department because he was publicly embarrassed into buying a new truck,
Instead of taking responsibility for his own failure to read memos, he decided to pass the buck,
Again, he “put a torch to it” because he was caught unaware,
So he tried to fire the Chief, thinking his own reputation would be repaired.

    Toting guns in Town Hall,
Disregarding laws, our Town Charter and all protocols,
He even disregarded “due process” and suspended a cop for just doing his job,
Because he’s the Mayor he thinks he knows it all.
Strobes on his vehicle & trying to slip his brother to the top of the list,
Shows he has a blatant disregard for authority, unless it’s his own butt being kissed.

True to form, in an act of vigilante retaliation about his brother,
He crossed way over the line and recklessly destroyed the reputation and career of 2 others,
The Mayor doing all of this shows everyone he has a great deal of badge envy,
Now he has made not one, but two departments or more- life long enemies.

The Mayor has “optioned” Long Beach West,
In reality it is not sold by far,
And in 5 years, our wallets will be lighter from all the attorney fees,
But as far as the beach goes, we will be right back to the start.

For 4 long years he has let Shakespeare’s roof rot and the inside corrode,
Fixing it now means only that he is now in his re-election mode.

Our taxes have gone way up since he took office,
And our property values have gone way down,
    Many businesses are leaving,
Under the lack of leadership of this pompous and arrogant clown.

He is spending his time pandering to the seniors, veterans and the minority vote,
Because that is whom he thinks will believe him,
You see if they don’t cast their ballot for him,
His campaign fails and his re-election goes up in smoke.

But they are not the fools he believes that they are,
For their votes along with everyone else’s will show him by far,
That even in a 4-way race,
What he has done to Stratford is a terrible disgrace.

Election Tuesday can’t come quick enough,
Stratford voters can’t wait to tell this Mayor to pack up his stuff,

Very simply because WE HAVE HAD MORE THAN ENOUGH!!!!

  24. 24 1george1

We have to get you out of your shell and start writing how you feel…

  25. 25 1george1

    Miron endorsed Catalano.

I see Miron signs next to Catalano signs.
I guess Matt intends to burn his signs after the election?
I suspect they would burn easier, due to the slick oozing … 😉

I told Weizel, who got part of my quote correct.

“Endorsements can be an ASSET or a LIABILITY.”

Mr. Fahan was working the room at the Save Stratford Harkins
    reception at Steven’s Pub.

A couple months ago I would not let Mr. Fahan speak when he
came to me at a RAC MEETING. I wanted him ticked.

Mr. Fahan deported himself like a gentleman then and at the PUB.

I told Mr. Fahan this is political and not personal.
I still want him to be voted 3rd.

I believe I am the best qualified for the Town Council 3rd District.
However Matt walked and Mr. Fahan probably did more than I about
the 3rd District. Que SERA – SERA

My issue with Mr. Fahan is about him sponsoring

My biggest issues with the parties are stealing grandfather rights of
    Town process for 1st Amendment Appeals….. 😦

Sometimes I just can’t help myself:

    Democrats say continuity is needed

    Written by Dave Mooney
    Thursday, 29 October 2009 10:35

Stratford voters have the chance this year to re-elect Mayor Jim Miron. No, Dave, we have a chance to fire him. Re-electing Mayor Miron will provide continuity at this critical point in time. Progress has been made in many areas stalled for years, or even decades, but there is still much to do. Continuity? You mean after he destroys all town records when he loses?

Since Mayor Miron took office, Long Beach West has gone from being embroiled in litigation to being a high-priority, federally funded beach restoration project. Dave, Dave…we won’t know that for another 5 years. Maybe.

It is no coincidence the original developer for the Army Engine Plant was cut loose, an auction was held and we are closer than ever to having that property redeveloped and on our tax rolls. Really? The Nateras bring such a shiny reputation to the table? On the other hand, they are probably nicer than the Mirons.

We have seen four years of Shakespeare festivals on the grounds of our landmark theater and the mayor has made securing a legal and fair contract a centerpiece issue. Are you kidding me? Hasn’t he said for month that he wouldn’t sign the contract?

We have also seen routine, annual property tax increases in the 5 to 6% range, replaced with lower and lower increases and a slight reduction this year. This has been accomplished by reducing spending, increasing grant revenue and economic development, and through sound fiscal management. These achievements have all happened during the worst global economic crisis since the Great Depression and have been recognized by Wall Street credit rating firms. Achievements? 12%, 9% and 3%. The only reason for no increase this year was deferring union raises until next year.

Eight of the 10 Town Council members are not running for re-election, making continuity in the mayor’s office all the more important. This historic opportunity for an entirely fresh start on the council could not come at a better time. Many of us have been dismayed to say the least by behavior of this council. The list of grievances is long, but the recent consideration of rejecting nearly $1 million in stimulus funding and the highly political and thankfully unsuccessful attempt to block the Army Engine Plant deal stand out in my mind. Only Miron has been dismayed at the Council. They refused to play “My way or the Highway” with Jimmy. Dave, you couldn’t even keep your best guy, Gavin Forester in your party.

As a resident of Stratford, the people I would like to see take on these positions on the council and other boards would be smart, principled individuals of high integrity. I would like to see people who have proven themselves dedicated to the town by volunteering in other capacities throughout their lives. Each and every man and woman the Democratic Party has nominated this year fits these ideals. Including John Fahan? Should I link Miron’s memo here again? No Dave, they were nominated because they all swore an oath of loyalty to Miron.

With more space, I could list all of the candidates here along with detailed reasons why they deserve your vote this year. But that isn’t necessary because you know them by now. They have called you or knocked on your door. You know them from the VFW, or community meetings, EMS or their many years of dedicated service to the town on boards, commissions and with the school system.
    But we survived anyway.

One final point: The Democratic Party nominated a slate of candidates that truly looks like Stratford. While the Republicans nominated 26 men and one woman, the Democrats put up 13 women. We have candidates representing every stage of life from their 20s to their 80s. We did not have to make any special efforts to field such a diverse group of people. Equity just happens when you have an inclusive party. Dave, really….you couldn’t even find anyone willing to run in the First or Fifth District. You are almost out of “volunteers”.

Dave Mooney is chairman of the Stratford Democratic Town Committee.

The Stratford Democratic Town Committee is a Cult of Miron. It in no way represents actual Democrats. James R. Miron, Richard Miron, Kent Miller, Rich Buturla have burnt the committee to the ground. Dave Mooney has enthusiastically helped them do it. After they lose the mayor’s office and every council seat (except Stephanie Phillips) let us hope actual Democrats can take control and reorganize this cult.

Oh, what the hell. Here is the link to the memo Miron wrote to the entire DTC. Obviously, all it takes to incur the Wrath of Miron is being in the wrong place:

  27. 27 pcsperling

“The Democratic Party nominated a slate of candidates that truly looks like Stratford.”

And, of course, his wife, Bonnie Reynolds is one of candidates for Town Council. Definitely not a person who “looks like Stratford” if you ask me. She’s a long-time school friend of Miron’s…… The slate of candidates from the DTC are ALL Miron hand-picks!
