Former Mayor James R. Miron is considering seeking the Democratic nomination for the 21st State Senate District.

Miron revealed the news on his Twitter and Facebook accounts Tuesday, and confirmed it to the Star.

He said an announcement would not likely be made before Monday night’s Democratic district convention at Baldwin Center.

The Visual Approximation had me in stitches.

It was the closest I could find.

Oh Great, now our choice is between two lawyers that have filled their pockets with gobs of taxpayer cash, so one of them can screw us again. If this thief Miron gets the nomination I hope the majority of the taxpaying public finally wakes up (I won’t hold my breath). Mark my words, if Jim Miron gets the nod I will reduce my house ANOTHER $20,000.00.

The only ones celebrating today are the Harkins gang, I’m sure they figure (and they’re probably right) that this circus will divert attention from their genuine lack of real action.

Now let’s see if our finance director, public works director, fire chief and police chief go running back to Miron to work THIS campaign.

Mulligan for State Senate…because HE COULDN’T do any worse!

We also have a preview of a draft campaign brochure:

    Profile of the Sociopath
    Miron Campaign Points:

    * Glibness and Superficial Charm

    * Manipulative and Conning
They never recognize the rights of others and see their self-serving behaviors as permissible. They appear to be charming, yet are covertly hostile and domineering, seeing their victim as merely an instrument to be used. They may dominate and humiliate their victims.

    * Grandiose Sense of Self
Feels entitled to certain things as “their right.”

    * Pathological Lying
Has no problem lying coolly and easily and it is almost impossible for them to be truthful on a consistent basis. Can create, and get caught up in, a complex belief about their own powers and abilities. Extremely convincing and even able to pass lie detector tests.

    * Lack of Remorse, Shame or Guilt
A deep seated rage, which is split off and repressed, is at their core. Does not see others around them as people, but only as targets and opportunities. Instead of friends, they have victims and accomplices who end up as victims. The end always justifies the means and they let nothing stand in their way.

    * Shallow Emotions
When they show what seems to be warmth, joy, love and compassion it is more feigned than experienced and serves an ulterior motive. Outraged by insignificant matters, yet remaining unmoved and cold by what would upset a normal person. Since they are not genuine, neither are their promises.

    * Incapacity for Love

    * Need for Stimulation
Living on the edge. Verbal outbursts and physical punishments are normal. Promiscuity and gambling are common.

    * Callousness/Lack of Empathy
Unable to empathize with the pain of their victims, having only contempt for others’ feelings of distress and readily taking advantage of them.

    * Poor Behavioral Controls/Impulsive Nature
Rage and abuse, alternating with small expressions of love and approval produce an addictive cycle for abuser and abused, as well as creating hopelessness in the victim. Believe they are all-powerful, all-knowing, entitled to every wish, no sense of personal boundaries, no concern for their impact on others.

    * Early Behavior Problems/Juvenile Delinquency
Usually has a history of behavioral and academic difficulties, yet “gets by” by conning others. Problems in making and keeping friends; aberrant behaviors such as cruelty to people or animals, stealing, etc.

    * Irresponsibility/Unreliability
Not concerned about wrecking others’ lives and dreams. Oblivious or indifferent to the devastation they cause. Does not accept blame themselves, but blames others, even for acts they obviously committed.

    * Promiscuous Sexual Behavior/Infidelity

    * Lack of Realistic Life Plan/Parasitic Lifestyle
Tends to move around a lot or makes all encompassing promises for the future, poor work ethic but exploits others effectively.

    * Criminal or Entrepreneurial Versatility
Changes their image as needed to avoid prosecution. Changes life story readily.

Have to tell you-this had me laughing all day–this guy is is the world’s biggest fool-only an azz would vote for jimbo-there are apparently a dtc full of those…..he has almost as much of a chance of winning as Bysewicz becoming the AG….The Democratic party is loaded with fools these days.

I can see the headlines now Stratford’s former mayor the one and only LYIN’, Cheatin’, Son of a Grave Robber, brother/defender of a thief, nepotistic, egotistic Ambulance Chasin’, VINDICTIVE, Gun Toting fool running for state office”…and those are his good points……………. if he thinks all this crap won’t be thrown up in his face–he needs more than one shrink to examine his fat head…..
nobody wants you Jimbo-we didn’t want you as Mayor because you sucked at the job and made the town a laughing stock…we certainly don’t want in a state office to f-up the state anymore than it already is-because you will.

You’ve got to be f’ing kidding me…….. WTF……. OK, that got my blood boiling again!

  8. 8 mayor2013

    Jez,
Your pamphlet was great. Suggest you add a word or two about stealing and encouraging others to engage in the act as well.

  9. 9 1george1

    Rex,

Your use of my bumper sticker slogan BROKE ME UP!

I have been feeling down for a couple of months because EVERY
WHERE I look the BAD GUYS are winning and people have rolled
    over and are playing dead!

Rex, I want to thank you for the occasional compliment too.
Even Jeze and Sudds have thrown a bone or two.

On a daily basis I talk to out of State Town and Education officials,
owners of businesses with a minimum of 50 employees and many
different decision makers with 50 + employees.

I have been doin this for 14 years and I hear the ways the contracting
economy has turned companies from 350 people to 35 employees or
from 500 to 100, with the rest due to lose jobs by 2011.
Teachers and custodians (like PCS Hubby) are getting cut, as well as
    Public Works, police, fire.

Yahoo today had a report about the cumulative effects of economics.

There are times I am hard pressed not to cry, as I listen to people who
know when their termination date is and they know the job market
with no idea on how to support their kids.

    It was all preventable.

Now for Jimmy to come back to run for office as his dad is about to
magically pay off his debt ……

When I read that list of Jeze’s, where she and I would consider those
to be insults …. the Dicks and DTC / RTC and others revel in the mud.

As bad as the Mirons are ….. they are petty tyrants compared to what
has been going on in the national scale. …..

    un fumpin believable ….

I gotta find me a pinnochio character like my buddy fred flintstone .. 😦

  10. 10 jezebel282

What can you expect from the Democratic Town Committee?

    Felons and incompetents welcome.

If Jimmy does walk away with the DTC nomination (and why wouldn’t he with Richard Miron and Buturla in charge) the DTC is doomed as a viable political anything.

The ones laughing the hardest will be Lou Decillio and Norm Aldrich. It will be a one party Town.

  11. 11 jezebel282

    PCS,

“OK, that got my blood boiling again!”

I’m confused. What was it that got your blood boiling? Sudds Jedi mind control or Miron?

  12. 12 jezebel282

The saddest news is that Miron will get the nomination.

There are no other Democrats, not in Shelton, Monroe, Seymour that want the job. Miron will be unopposed.

Yet one more crushing defeat for Democrats. Kevin Kelley has already ordered his new nameplate.

  13. 13 1george1

    Jeze,

You need to calm down as the Mirons should not control your emotions.

There are mostly puppets in Stratford’s DTC.
    Let Jim get a nomination.
It makes the situation transparent on Town.

The DTC is easier for a group of new voters to take over than the RTC,
because the RTC needs to control 10 Districts.
The DTC is Town wide voters.

With Jim running, what are the best and worst case scenarios?
Even if he won the D nomination at State level?
Even if he won the November election?
Isn’t it easier to see what he and his partners have done?

  14. 14 jezebel282

    George,

“You need to calm down as the Mirons should not control your emotions.”

Felons, thieves and lawyers have that effect on me.

(Where the hell did I put that ativan?)

  15. 15 sudds

WOW… who’s the cute blonde in post #7???

(waving my hand) sweet, sweet lovins’ with Sudds sounds like a REALLY good idea!!!

  16. 16 jezebel282

    George,

    “Let Jim get a nomination.
It makes the situation transparent on Town.”

Taking the lid off a sewer is not a pleasant experience.

What we need are some heroes and boy scouts to step up.

    Update:

Democrats nominate Miron in 21st District

Written by Fred Musante (Of course)
    Tuesday, 25 May 2010 10:43

Democrats Monday unanimously chose former Stratford Mayor James Miron as their candidate for the 21st Senate District.

Miron stressed his term as Stratford’s first mayor as an advantage, giving him the ideal perspective on how state Senate decisions affect voters and taxpayers back home in cities and towns.

He will face Kevin Kelly, a Stratford lawyer and assistant town attorney, in the election in November.

The 21st Senate District is comprised of all of Shelton, most of Stratford and parts of Monroe and Seymour. State Sen. Dan Debicella, a two-term Republican, is stepping down to run for the 4th Congressional District seat against U.S. Rep. Jim Himes.

In his acceptance speech, Miron said his key issue would be the state’s inadequate aid to cities and towns for education.

He told delegates to the party nominating convention held at the Baldwin Center in Stratford on Monday that every town in the district faces an annual fight over school budget funding. He said the key issue is to get the state to provide more aid for local school budgets.

“Every year we have this budget problem,” he said.

“As a former mayor, I understand very well that the rubber meets the road in City Hall.”

He also promised to fight against unfunded mandates. “If the state requires a municipality to do something, then the state ought to pay for it,” he said in an interview after receiving the party nomination.

Miron described himself as a reluctant candidate. He said a week ago he learned that neither Chris Jones of Shelton nor Janice Andersen of Stratford, who ran against Debicella in 2006 and 2008, had stepped forward for another campaign, so he threw his hat in the ring.

Shelton Planning & Zoning Commission member Joan Flannery had expressed an interest, but she withdrew from consideration when Miron stepped forward.

“I think it’s our obligation as Democrats to always field candidates and debate the issues that matter to people,” Miron said.

He added that the campaign should be about the state Senate, not about his term as mayor, and he urged the convention delegates to get behind him, Himes, U.S. Rep. Rosa DeLauro of the 3rd Congressional District, Attorney General Richard Blumenthal who is running for U.S. Senate, and other Democratic Party candidates in the 2010 election.

Miron served one stormy term as Stratford’s mayor, an office Republicans created through a charter revision. Ironically, as a member of the Charter Revision Commission, Miron opposed having a mayor.

But when he ran for mayor and won, Republicans, who expected their candidate to win, held another charter revision to reduce the mayor’s powers. When Miron ran for re-election last year, he was defeated by Republican John Harkins.

Miron said he would seek the public financing option to fund his campaign. He said that reaching the threshold amount of private donations to qualify for public financing would allow him to focus on the issues rather than on raising money.

Based on early campaign statements made by Miron and Kelly, voters should expect the campaign to be a debate between Kelly’s insistence on fiscal responsibility in Hartford and Miron’s demand that the state meets its obligations to help fund education.

A hurdle for Miron is the fact that no Democrat has ever won the 21st Senate seat. George “Doc” Gunther of Stratford held the seat for 40 years, the longest serving member of the Senate in state history.

But Miron noted that Debicella did not win by large margins in 2006 or 2008, suggesting it might be winnable.

“It’s hard to win a seat that’s never been won by a Democrat, but wouldn’t it be good to do that?” he said.

  18. 18 1george1

Kevin Kelly made how much during the Miron / Burturla years?

Kevin Kelly through how much to Burturla when Kelly was Town Attorney?

Anyone think this or Wrassling isn’t rigged?

  19. 19 mikereynolds

I wonder how dirty this campaign will get.

  20. 20 jezebel282

    Mike,

    What campaign?

Aside from DTC members, do you know any voters dumb enough to vote for Miron….again?

  21. 21 jezebel282

Although I did get a chuckle from “Miron said he would seek the public financing option to fund his campaign”.

I guess he can’t count on Lakeview Monument again.

  22. 22 1george1

Mike all the attorneys, politicians, ranking Fed / State / Local police
    are partners in crime.
The pigs are are ready full of mud.
Choices of boss tweedle dumb and dumber?
McMahon & Simmons are both from same backers, as are the rest.

  23. 23 jezebel282

    Just a minor footnote…

As stated in Fred Musante’s article the vote of the Democrats for Miron was unanimous. That means everybody.

Jason Santi, Kim Muese and Stephanie Phillips.

Nice work, Councilmen. Good luck with that credibility thing.

  24. 24 paradisegreen

Aw come on now. Haven’t you ever been to a nomination meeting? They are always unanimous when there is only one candidate running, unopposed. The parties always want to at least have a name on the ticket, no matter who it is. Haven’t you seen some of the “sacrificial lambs” from both parties in town elections?

  25. 25 mayor2013

Public Financing, WOW! Miron has to collect a minimum of $5,000 in 100 or more small contributions to qualify for public financing. After that, he gets a check for $25,000 from all of us to run his campaign for a seat he will absolutely never, ever win. Aren’t we all just wonderful????? We will be giving him $25,000 more than he already took from us – for doing nothing.

    Nice work folks!

  26. 26 1george1

It is tempting to petition to get on to the ballot vs. Jim + Kevin.

I would have fun debating them.
Pinnochio comment on News 12 pales compared to
    > Old mother hubbard
    > Old woman who lived in a shoe
    > Aesop / Grimm / Machiavelli / Platos Republic

    Problems are that
I could not afford to win the election.
I could not be effective to benefit Stratford in the position, since
I believe every Hartford and D.C. elected official is a criminal,
traitor, or both, and would enjoy telling them to their faces!

I have ZERO delusions about winning ANY elections.

  27. 27 jezebel282

    2013,

“Miron has to collect a minimum of $5,000 in 100 or more small contributions to qualify for public financing. After that, he gets a check for $25,000 from all of us to run his campaign”.

Wait a minute. He gets fifty people to put up $100 and they get $200 back and he keeps $5,000?

  28. 28 mayor2013

Nobody gets anything back. He keeps all the money ($30,000) to manage his campaign. Quite a bonanza – compliments of us.

  29. 29 sudds

Silly Mayor… you OBVIOUSLY have NO idea how Miron works his campaigns!!!

You are absolutely correct about the unanimous thing.

‘Sacrificial lambs’ are frequently used to “fill a spot” to give the perseption that voters have a choice.

The only time , that I can recall, Mr.J. Miron has run for ANY position in Stratford, M-O-N-E-Y was involved.

    Jez,

It can be even simpler then that.

    Get 100 $5 donations from… (honest taxpayers)

Get a few friends and family to put up the rest, (within the maximum allowed by law.)

    Presto chango. Free money.

    Editor’s note:

    Ron,

George has already been elected as the most annoying poster by virtue of hitting “enter” after every 4th word.

It’s a little too early to begin your campaign for the position. Try for at least three sentences before hitting “submit”.

  37. 37 ronmoreau

    Yes

    Dear

  39. 39 jezebel282

To Ron’s credit at least he posts his opinions under the correct topic thread.

  41. 41 mayor2013

Heard, second hand, he applied for a position representing local police unions in the Fairfield area – the guy really has balls! Of course, he was not considered.

  42. 42 jezebel282

    2013,

    LOL!

Who did he use for references? Joe McNeil? Shawn Farmer? Pat Naylor? Diane Toolan? Eileen Murphy? Sam Dupuis? Sue Nicholson?

Experience: Firing union presidents and vice presidents for no reason at all.

I wouldn’t call it “balls”…I think maybe “pathology” would be more accurate.

  43. 43 mayor2013

    Jez,

I agree. Don’t get so upset – the guy is a real sicko not to mention dillusional. He will never alter his being – he is way too far gone. It is just a shame he will be allowed to rip off the public for another $30,000 – it is just not right!

  44. 44 1george1

Sorry Rex – I get confused on topics,
Especially as I try to write about what was posted in that topic.

With Dick Miron admitting guilt and NO JAIL TIME
With Jim Miron being unanimous Democratic nominee.
With Jim Miron actually being the superior candidate to Kevin Kelly,
to whom he and Burturla paid over $ 500,000 in 4 years ….

    Maybe Stratford should draft Blagojevich?

It looks like the powers that are want a whole new crew of useful idiots?
Naturally the public will vote out the old rascals and vote i the NEW! 😦

  45. 45 jezebel282

    Correction:

Connecticut campaign funding for State Senatorial candidates is not $25,000.

Public campaign funding for State Senate candidates is $75,000. No strings attached.

The candidate must first raise a minimum of $15,000 worth of donations on his own.

    Has Miron called you yet?

  46. 47 ronmoreau

    If you’re,

  47. 48 ronmoreau

    or anyone is, interested.

  48. 49 ronmoreau

    Sudds,

    Free money.

  49. 50 jezebel282

Pssst, Ron. No offense, but seeing your picture once per idea is enough, thanks.

  50. 51 1george1

    Hey Ron,

Are you suggesting that IF THERE ARE ABONDONED HOMES IN STRATFORD,
    thanks to MIRONS / BURTURLAS / BERCHEMS / WILLINGERS / BUCCI /
RTC / DTC – then the PARASITE CANDIDATES can VAMPIRE money from
defaulted homes, which they helped to create … to pay CAMPAIGN
MANAGERS, who can then REPAY for things OWED? 😦

  51. 52 1george1

James Miron is running against Kevin Kelly for Danny D’s seat.
    Parties’ Primaries are August 10
AVCO money date August 9 or 10
    Dick Miron money date ???

As Mayor, James Miron appointed Richard Burturla as Town Attorney.

Esquire Burturla gave business to Esq. Kevin Kelly and Esq. John Florek.
Over 4 years, I know Esq. Kelly racked up over $ 500,000 in Town Fees
    from the Town Attorney’s Office.

Mayor Harkins’ Town Attorney is Tim Bishop, partner to Kevin Kelly and
“co-incidentally” uses Esq. Kelly and florek to cover his absence and Esq.
    Burturla retains many Town cases.

GAVIN heads Stratford BoE, which retains BERCHEM ……

I believe as Housing Authority Attorney, and “special town attorney”
    Esq. Florek took between $ 100,000 – $ 200,000 in Fees, in 4 years.
Esq. Florek was Town Attorney in 1991, when Public Initiative created
    Town Petitions and Referendums.
Esq. Florek was Town Council Charter Revision Commission Chairman
on a supposedly volunteer capacity, while doing paid work for the
    Miron / Burturla cabal.

What do the words fungible and dunsel mean?

Are there CIVIL as well as CRIMINAL aspects to R.I.C.O.
    Racketeering
    INFLUENCE
    Corruption
    Organization

Are either the Democratic or Political parties considered Organizations?

In Stratford CORRUPTicut, have any CORRUPTION activities taken place?

In Stratford CORRUPTicut, have any people used or abused INFLUENCE?

Does anyone believe political people in stratford, bridgeport, fairfield,
norwalk, milford, trumbull, shelton, new haven, hartford, NYC, DC, or
    elsewhere have engaged in RACKETERING?

I was shocked, shocked, shocked when a

  52. 53 1george1

CA Judge ruled the Los Angelos Police Department was guilty of
RACKETERING practices, less than 10 years ago.

Why would anyone want to be part of the RTC + DTC, when penalties
related to R.I.C.O. include confiscation of all in-gotten gains, which
can include homes, cars, savings, and get JAIL TIME in the unlikely
event that there EXISTED VIOLATIONS of LAW?

And it was the Legislature, including present Mayor Harkins who passed
a CT LAW, taking away PENSIONS if corruption is proven.

I wonder if Jim Miron and Dick Miron had cut a deal to be state’s evidence?

In the first 6 months of Jim’s Mayoral term, I asked him why he had the
Secretary from Berchem’s office as his gate keeper?

There was never a question of competence on her part!!!
Actually she may have been the most qualified of all Jimmy’s hires.
However, I raised the question WHY Jimmy would want Burturla’s /
Berchem’s person knowing virturally every fact about his office?

Jimmy had told me Dick Burturla was NOT his choice to be Town Attorney,
    but the “PARTY’S CHOICE!”
I was too slow to point out DICK MIRON was the Stratford Democratic
Party, the same ways MARIO TESTA is Bridgeport’s Democratic Party!!

I wonder if they got all of the FBI cameras and microphones outta the
Bridgeport room, in Testa’s old place?

I wonder how many FBI cameras and microphones have been placed in
Mill River Country Club and are embedded in Town Hall walls and wires,
as well as Police Station, Fire House, Public Works?

I wonder how much the FBI will get kicked back when CIA Rob Simmons
    pulls and upset ….
    HEY IT COULD HAPPEN?
What if everyone else was INDICTED and/or choose to withdraw?

And I do NOT LIKE SIMMONS and friends

  53. 54 jezebel282

    Update:

Just when we were getting a little bored, good news! Miron’s back for a third try.

    “To the Editor:

I am compelled to respond to the recent news stories about the Stratford fire union making a one time giveback to “assist the town.” However, before I do, I let me state that the men and women of the Stratford Fire Department are to be commended for their service. As I have always, I thank them for it…. That being said, the fire department budget is too high and the current leadership in town is obviously unwilling to do anything meaningful about it. The much touted “giveback” does nothing to achieve real cost containment in the Stratford Fire Department.”
    http://stratford.patch.com/articles/former-mayor-is-critical-of-lack-of-real-effort-to-curtail-fire-department-budget

Yup! Let the resurrection begin. It’s that season isn’t it? Letters to the editor, blog postings, who knows what’s next? Maybe some fund raising?

It’s kind of like an infection that you thought was gone.
Has anyone called Jason Santi and told him Miron wants his seat on the Council?

Harkins seems to be Miron’s favorite target (Well, it is kinda easy isn’t it?) But I doubt that Miron will mention that he raised taxes 25.74% during the dark years he was mayor.

I can hardly wait to hear what’s next.

  54. Yes, I saw that story the other day. All I can say is OMG, here we go….

I believe he thinks that citizens in Santi’s district will believe anything. They voted for Santi, didn’t they? Miron will spend two years on the council pretending to be a normal person and then run for mayor again. He’s is counting on Stratford voters to have amnesia.

As long as the DTC keeps enabling him, he will always be around.

Mike, i don’t even think he cares if he actually wins as long as he can get his hands on the public campaign funding….read the reports and see how much of that cash was funneled through his “lady’s” (I use the term loosely) PR business……
Rumor mill has it that the FED investigators weren’t in Town hall for a cup of coffee and they weren’t there because of Harkins….hmmmmmm who was the idiot that came before Harkin’s again??? That’s right, the Village Idiot…….

So what were they there for?

  60. 61 mikereynolds

He’s all over Stratford Patch making it sound like he never did anything wrong and that John Harkins is wrong about everything.

I wonder if his house on Light St. is made of glass?

    Mike,

“He’s all over Stratford Patch making it sound like he never did anything wrong and that John Harkins is wrong about everything.”

You really have to appreciate the humor in it. Harkins left whoever Miron hired in place (even promoted one) and now Miron is criticizing him for it. It’s actually pretty funny. Probably not to Harkins though.

I doubt you will see mayor Moron bring up LBW, SAEP, the Theater or maybe the lack of flowers everywhere.

The FEDS / FBI were in town hall Aug 2009 and last month,
    if my info is correct?

  63. 64 jezebel282

    George,

“The FEDS / FBI were in town hall”

Who cares? If the FEEBS were going to do anything, they should have done it 3 or 4 years ago when it would have done some good. At that time, I honestly wouldn’t have been a bit surprised if they led everyone on the third floor of Town Hall out in handcuffs.

    JEZE
The elevator floors are B, 1, and 2.

If the FEEEBS were under orders to lay low so patrons could steal
everything the others have been stealing …..

Mirons et al do have a need to try to create an ILLUSION that they
are NOT PART of a CONSPIRACY and / or FRAUD …… ?

    Would you agree or disagree?

They keep going to the same set of Tricks, like the Fire Department did.

After awhile, people start catching on ….

    TAXES going WAY UP

    Certain people getting disparate compensation
Same groups of people in charge ….

“I wonder if his house on Light St. is made of glass?”
It is not his house….his is the dump on Lenox Ave.

  66. 67 jezebel282

    George,

“Mirons et al do have a need to try to create an ILLUSION that they
are NOT PART of a CONSPIRACY and / or FRAUD …… ?
    Would you agree or disagree?”

I might, if I knew what the hell you were talking about.

  67. 68 1george1

    CONSPIRACY and / or FRAUD

    Unusually generous Benefits = bipartisan
